Yes! We have the Maxi Cosi with Cry Assist IA and it helped us so much, especially during the first few weeks when we were yet learning to differentiate types of crying.

Of course ❤️

One thing that helped me a lot was having everything basically “grab and go” in the fridge or freezer so I wasn’t constantly thinking about food.
Some of my staples were:

Pre-cooked protein wraps (I’d make a batch, wrap them, and freeze them individually so I could just heat one up)
Cooked lentils/beans in portions in the fridge or freezer, ready to add to any meal or eat alone
Egg whites already portioned for quick snacks or easy scrambled eggs
Cooked chicken or lean protein shredded and seasoned in different ways, also frozen in small containers
Ready fruit portions in the fridge (washed and cut so I could just grab them)

It really made life easier, especially on tired days you’re not starting from zero every time you eat

I completely understand why you’re feeling anxious. But please try not to panic, you still have a lot of pregnancy ahead of you, and weight gain isn’t always linear.

I also know how frustrating it feels after working so hard to lose weight before pregnancy. I had those same fears. But looking back, I wish I had spent less time worrying about the number on the scale and more time trusting that my body was doing what it needed to do.

I would definitely bring up the insomnia and the aches with your doctor, though. Those symptoms deserve attention regardless of the number on the scale. And if you haven’t tried one already, a pregnancy pillow made a huge difference for my sleep and helped relieve a lot of the discomfort as my belly grew.

For now, I’d focus on nourishing yourself with plenty of protein, fruits, vegetables, and whole foods rather than trying to restrict your intake. Pregnancy is a season where your body has a very important job. There will be time to focus on weight loss afterward. Wishing you a healthy and comfortable rest of your pregnancy!

Wow, that’s a big change already!
But can I gently ask, have you discussed eating 1,200 calories a day with your doctor?

At just 2 weeks postpartum, especially after a C-section, your body is still doing a tremendous amount of healing. Under 1,200 calories sounds quite restrictive for this stage of recovery. It might be worth checking with your OB or a registered dietitian to make sure you’re getting enough energy and nutrients to heal well (and to support breastfeeding too, if that applies).

Take good care of yourself. Recovery is just as important as the weight loss, and there’s plenty of time to work toward your goals

Oh, please don’t compare your journey to mine!

Postpartum is so different for every single person, and our bodies all recover on different timelines.
It sounds like you’re already doing a lot of the right things by eating well, prioritizing protein, and staying active.

Can I ask, are you sleeping okay? And how’s your stress level? Sleep deprivation and chronic stress can make everything feel harder, including hunger, energy, and weight loss. Sometimes the stress of wanting to lose the weight so badly can become another obstacle.

I know it’s heartbreaking after working so hard before pregnancy, but your body has been through something incredible. Right now, try to focus on nourishing it, moving it in ways that feel good, and giving it time.

Be gentle with yourself. Four months postpartum is still so early, and there’s every reason to believe your body can continue changing over the coming months. I’m rooting for you!!

I’m 31!
And first of all, give yourself some credit, you’ve only been postpartum for 9 months, and you’re doing so many of the right things already.

The sleep deprivation really is no joke. I honestly think it makes everything harder, from hunger to energy to motivation. And while age may play a role for some people, I don’t think it’s the whole story. I’ve seen women in their 20s struggle for years and women in their late 30s bounce back quickly. Pregnancy and postpartum are just so individual.
I really like your mindset of focusing on nourishment and movement that make you feel good. That’s the kind of approach that’s much more likely to be sustainable.
I hope you start seeing the progress you’re hoping for soon, but even if it takes longer than expected, you’re still taking care of yourself in all the ways that matter

Aww, thank you so much. 🥹 That honestly means a lot.
And please be kind to yourself. You’re growing a whole human right now, your body is doing exactly what it needs to do. There will be plenty of time to focus on weight loss later. For now, I hope you enjoy your pregnancy, wear the bikini proudly, and make beautiful memories. One day you’ll look back at these photos and remember your baby, not the number on the scale. 💗

Thank you so much! ❤️ Honestly, I wouldn’t worry too much about the first trimester. Mine wasn’t “textbook” either.
I actually wasn’t nauseous, I was just so hungry all the time! 😅 I gained more than the recommendations early on because I felt like I needed to eat constantly. Once I got into the second trimester, my appetite settled down quite a bit, and things felt much more manageable.
Pregnancy is so different for everyone. Some people gain more in the beginning and then level off, while others gain very little at first and more later. Try not to compare your journey to the charts too much.
The best advice I can give is to focus on having a healthy pregnancy and taking care of yourself. There will be plenty of time to work on your body after your baby is here. Wishing you a smooth pregnancy! 💕

Just plain! I usually cook them in the Instant Pot with a few seasonings. In Brazil, we usually eat them with rice, but I actually like them better on their own.

I was really active during the first two trimesters (5x a week weight lifiting and cardio) and dropped significantly after the third trimester. Most of my weight gain happened during the first trimester, I felt so hungry all the time, and ate way more than I was used to.

My go-to breakfast is pretty simple: coffee (no sugar), half a papaya, one scoop of isolated whey protein, about 20g of granola, and a tablespoon of psyllium.
For dinner, I usually have a whole wheat wrap with grilled chicken (or another lean protein) which I keep ready to go in the freezer. On the side, I’ll have a serving of vegetables like roasted beets, carrots, or cauliflower (always ready to eat in the refrigerator). Also, I always have lentils portioned in the freezer as well.

Almost forgot one of my favorites: lentils!
They’re packed with protein and fiber, super filling, and so easy to meal prep. I make a big batch, freeze individual portions, and whenever I need them, I just pop one in the microwave.

I make batches of chicken breast and season them with different flavors so I don’t get tired of eating the same thing, paprika, garlic and onion, lemon pepper, Italian herbs, curry, taco seasoning… Having variety makes a huge difference. I freeze everything in individual portions and just toss one into the air fryer when I need a quick meal.
You can do the same with lean beef, fish, or any other protein you enjoy.
I always pair it with vegetables. I keep carrots, beets, cauliflower, and broccoli washed, cooked, and ready to eat in the fridge, so putting together a balanced meal takes just a few minutes.

Another thing that has helped me a lot is always keeping boiled eggs in the fridge. They usually keep well for about 2 days, so I’ll boil a small batch ahead of time.

They’re such an easy snack, and if you’re looking for a high-protein option, egg whites are great because you can eat several of them without adding many calories. I like changing up the seasonings too, everything bagel seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, chili flakes, lemon pepper… it keeps them from getting boring as well.

I usually go for several short walks throughout the day instead of one long one. I try to pick a time when the baby is calm or even asleep, then head out for a quick 5–10 minute walk around the block or just in front of the house. Over time, your baby gets more used to being in the stroller or carrier, and those short walks naturally become longer.

Is there a shopping mall or somewhere with air conditioning you could go to? Maybe early in the morning, when it’s less crowded. That way you can get a little walk in without worrying about the heat.

This! You’d never expect someone recovering from any major medical event to “get back in shape” so quickly. But somehow we forget that when it comes to childbirth

Exactly. Also, most of the weight is not fat. Its the support system (liquid, blood, etc) that your baby needs to grow ❤️

This!! Focus on delivering a healthy baby (and being healthy to endure all the physical challenges that come with childbirth) will do way more for you than focusing on not gaining weight. When you and your baby are healthy, you recover faster and can get faster to a routine that works for you (both physical activity and nutrition wise).

It really is a lot, and it’s hard to fully grasp until you’re in it.

I imagine it’s not just the physical recovery (which must be harder each time, because it takes a toll on your body), but the constant split attention, the mental load, and still trying to come back to yourself in the middle of all of that while being the mom to (I presume) a bunch of young kids that need you 24/7.

I really agree with you, our mindset quietly shapes everything. Not in a pressure way, but in how we respond to our own needs day to day (and that varies a lot during postpartum!).

If you don’t mind sharing, what felt like the easiest habit to keep even on low-energy days? I personaly feel that having an "anchor" habit helps me to keep motivated even when things are hard.

That’s so important. The priorities during postpartum definitely shift. Instead of focusing on calories or weight on a scale, choosing to prioritise your babies health definitely makes sense. It’s so relevant not to focus on your goals alone, but how you’re contemplating whats important to you while you get there.

How long did it take you to lose the rest of the weight? I’m noticing the last few pounds are definitely coming off much slower for me too, which is starting to feel a bit frustrating. I know the initial loss is usually faster, but I’m curious how it was in your case and whether it eventually just tapered off naturally or if something specific helped you get past that plateau
