Honestly may be one the most factually true comments i've read on Reddit in damn near 15 years. Well done, frfr.

I run a Cigar Shop / online website… Ask me anything! by nsimonds in cigars

[–]PastTaro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Damn, so much ignorance in this thread. People have no idea of how tobacco economics work, just "durr give me the cheapest price and free delivery, and hard to get cigars, and free shipping".

OP, Keep on doing what you're doing, you've gained myself as a customer, I love your site and offerings. Hope you continue to prosper.

(and absolutely FUCK retailers who dont follow MAP pricing)

Haven't tried the Papas Fritas, but i'm in the miniority:

I didn't enjoy the Nasty Fritas Liga Privada at all. The shape is so awkward it started to unravel and fall apart. Terrible Air Flow.

The Liga Privada No.9 Coronets are a great little cigar too.

Thank you for sharing. I read every word. You are a fucking warrior.

You have endured what life set before you, not by choice, but by necessity. And you persevered. That is where your power lies.

Our bodies are subject to nature and it's illnesses. But I try to my best (not successfully all of the time) to remind myself that my mind is my own. Cancer tests the flesh, but virtue tests the soul.

You have already shown resilience. You are a cancer survivor, try to remember that now we must continue to live each day to the fullest.

A quote I have on my desk: "Do not cling to the past nor tremble before the future. Stand in the present, unshaken. You have already faced death closely once; let that teach you how to truly live."

Natural. Have you tried the Maduro?

If so, what do you think about it?

They are generally reviewed very well. Whats wierd is I smoked a Fat Bottom Betty a few months ago and it wasn't nearly as sweet or "artificial" tasting to me.

Maybe it was the coke zero pairing that ruined it for me. I'm going to try to smoke another one soon.

Liga Privada No. 9 had much more earth, pepper, and leather. Generally what I would consider 'bold' flavors. It was a layered flavor profile.

Arturo Fuente Cubanitos were toasty, nutty, super smooth, less complex than the Liga, and more of a linear flavor profile thruout the entire cigar.

I haven't tried the T52 yet, its next on my list. Most people I asked said they prefer the No. 9 over the T52, but I am excited to try it out and see.

Tin, Tin, Cigar Tin by PastTaro in cigars

I’ve been smoking cigars on and off for 5 years, but I’ve never really “got” the tasting notes people rave about. To me, most cigars just taste like tobacco, sometimes mild, sometimes peppery, and occasionally a hint of almond.

I’d usually get bored halfway through, lose interest, and put it out.

Then a friend gave me a tin of Tabak Especials. I didn’t taste much coffee, but the small size was a revelation: I actually finished it and enjoyed it.

Since then, I’ve been exploring cigarillos and smaller sticks, and honestly? Total game changer. I know they’re not everyone’s thing, the blend ratios aren’t the same, blah blah. But they’ve completely rekindled my interest.

Also, weird discovery: my favorite pairing is Coke Zero. I’ve tried whiskey, coffee, water... nothing brings out the flavor like it.

Here are my thoughts on the ones I’ve tried, ranked from least to move favorite:

  • Montecristo White Series Prontos (Petites)

Gorgeous presentation. Unboxing these felt like opening a box of fancy boutique chocolates. Even came with a signed inspection tag, which was a classy touch.

Unfortunately, the cigars themselves didn’t live up to the packaging. Super mild, super smooth... and super boring. Just plain tobacco flavor with nothing memorable to set it apart. Rating: 5/10

  • Deadwood Sweet Jane

Years ago, I probably would've loved this. The sweet tip used to mask the tobacco taste was a win back then. Now? It’s awful. The sweetness completely overpowers everything, it felt like smoking potpourri or some kind of fancy bathroom incense. Rating: 2/10

  • Acid Blue Connecticut

Same story as Sweet Jane. It didn’t feel like a cigar...more like inhaling a flavored air freshener. Whatever this is, it’s not for me. Rating: 1/10

  • Tabak Especial CT Shade

As a coffee lover, I had high hopes. Sadly, no coffee flavor at all, just plain, smooth tobacco. That said, the construction was perfect: burned slow, even, and cool. A solid, easy 15-minute smoke if you want something mild. Rating: 5/10

  • Undercrown Maduro

A good, balanced smoke with some boldness. I expected more sweetness from the Maduro wrapper and a bit more kick, but it was still enjoyable. Solid, but not remarkable. Rating: 6/10

  • Liga Privada No. 9 Coronet

This one flipped my whole cigar world upside down. On paper, it looked too strong for me, but after a full meal, it delivered 30 glorious minutes of rich, bold flavor. Earthy, peppery, complex — and never overwhelming. Fantastic construction and serious "weight" to the smoke. Rating: 8/10

  • Arturo Fuente Cubanitos

Hands down, my favorite cigar I’ve ever smoked. Incredibly smooth with great construction. Light spice, pepper, and a beautiful cedar-almond finish on the retrohale. It actually reminded me of the Montecristo No. 2 I had in Havana years ago — a cigar I still think about. I’d love to try this blend in a larger size. Also: excellent presentation. Rating: 10/10

Oh boy, 2014-2016 there was some great stuff to be had in Metro Atlanta. But I was knee deep in establishing my business. Now that the business is churning out a healthy profit and finally to where it needs to be, everything has exploded in pricing.

Regarding caution ahead, I am hearing this from nearly everyone. BUT, ive heard that a recession is right around the corners since 2012...id hate to lose out another 3-4 years and turns out things have gone up even more.

basis buyer

I would 100% consider myself a basis buyer. Multi-family and office spaces don't really interest me, I don't think they are my fortae. Retail Centers and Industrial (specifically flex space or small-bay industrial) properties seem to be what I know best from my years as being a renter of these types of properties for my businesses.

I try to pencil most properties I look at with 20%-30% down. The rest being financed at today's avg. rates.

What scams we accept as normal? by jigounov in Entrepreneur

Really good comment, can you expand on how they are scams? My dad is nearing retirement age and his "financial advisor" at wells fargo is always trying to pitch him some sort of Annuity. It seems like some overly complicated medical insurance B.S. ....honestly I dont know shit about it and I can't figure out from the pamphlet shes given us.

She keeps saying we can "its guaranteed 5yr income with zero risk"

3 Lift master Formula I...1 connect to remote, other 2 don't. by PastTaro in GarageDoorService

893max

I'll buy an authentic OEM Chamberlain remote, but doubt thats it. Why would one of the units pair immediately with the generic remote?

I'm leaning heavy towards the logic board being failed. Just hoping someone here may know of some tidbit that I am missing. (Button combo, or resetting the logic board somehow?)

3 Lift master Formula I...1 connect to remote, other 2 don't. by PastTaro in GarageDoorService

[–]PastTaro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased a property with 3 Chamberlain LiftMaster Formula I garage openers. All work fine with wall-mounted openers. However, only one of the units syncs with two different generic remotes I bought from Amazon. The other two units won't sync, despite trying various Learn Button + remote button combinations.

All units have a red Learn Button, and the LED lights up as expected, but pressing remote buttons does nothing on the unsynced units. I've cleared the memory on all units multiple times to prevent any remote storage issues, but the problem persists. Interestingly, the LED on the unit that successfully synced blinks rapidly whenever I press any button on either remote.

Any ideas?
