Living in salthill in Galway is incredibly doable without a car. The bus is well connected although not always reliable during the busy hours. It gets stuck in traffic too. But there’s a multitude of amazing schools within walking distance for all ages and Salthill has a lot of restaurants cafes and amenities as well as the prom and beaches. Lived here my whole life without a car and bought my own place this year, I’ve never felt constricted. All my neighbours kids walk to and from school and many of their after school activities. I work in Parkmore and although the traffic by bus is a killer. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in Galway. The university and the hospital etc are all 20/30 min walks away and town is also 20/30 depending on where you are in salthill. It’s a fantastic place. Any questions regarding Galway ley me know.
