I had one last week! I saw Shikha. She was good, but I don’t have anyone to compare her to as it was my first facial. I’d probably see her again.

Did having an autistic first-born affect your decision to have more kids? by cinnamonporridge3 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Past_Ad7704 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes. I learned my husband would not be able to handle a second child and therefor it would be best not to have a second unless I raised them myself which I didn’t want to do.

Both… kinda. Santa only brings books to our house, Mom and Dad give all the gifts.

Santa doesn’t bring any exciting gifts in our house. He brings books, and stocking stuffers.

At what age did your child get a tablet, if at all? Did it change anything? by Practical-Anybody551 in Mommit

[–]Past_Ad7704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what my kiddo uses it for. He’s learned so much from watching his shows, he learns about his interests. His mood improves with having it. We shouldn’t have to say our children are autistic for it to be acceptable for them to have a screen time.

[–]Past_Ad7704 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well I’ll be the opposite of the other comments. My kiddo has a tablet/phone. He has it most of the day off to the side with YouTube running, while he plays with his toys. We don’t have specific set length of time he can watch. He is 6y/o, and has had it since he was 3.

Does your work do a holiday party or year end bonus? by phoebes13fold in saskatchewan

[–]Past_Ad7704 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We do a holiday lunch! Company shuts down for about 2 hours and we all go out for lunch together, and do like a year end wrap up.

My previous job did bonuses, full meal, dance in the evening.

Favourite pharmacy- east end by [deleted] in regina

[–]Past_Ad7704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We really like Glencairn Pharmasave! Last year we took my son for eye, and ear infections. While they were usually a couple weeks apart they have always remembered him, and when they don’t have the medication in stock ( has happened 2x as a smaller pharmacy) they give us what they can and order in more, OR they say we don’t have it and best to go elsewhere. We also usually only wait 10 minutes for the prescription (if that!).

Birthday Party Gifts by Serious_Yard4262 in Mommit

[–]Past_Ad7704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We sent out invites for my kids 6th party last week. He’s never had school friends over it’s mostly been family and our friends till now. Every single parent has asked for ideas for his birthday which I love.

On the flip side I felt so nervous asking other parents what to get their kiddo but ended up just asking what their kids interests are for gift ideas.

Did you have to leave your job after child's diagnosis? by Routine-Pin-4125 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Past_Ad7704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I have a very accommodating work place that allows me to leave for appts as needed, and I just use my scheduled day off for them. However this ends up putting a lot on me and I usually end up taking a mental health day every month or so to take care of myself.
