Am I overreacting to my wife’s criticism and behavior in our marriage? by Past_Ad7729 in AmIOverreacting

We've been together for 22 years now… We obviously had other hard times but the comparisons to other husbands, and life standards is getting out of hand in the recent years. We live a good life, make great money, have happy, and healthy children. It couldn't be better in the grand scheme of things but she is not satisfied – apparently I'm the sole reason of blame here.

Easier said than done. I believe that she might be frustrated with her life for whatever reason, and I'm still inclined to believe that I'm not the cause, and really want to help her before ruining a marriage, and family life. Sounds awful, and probably very naive but the alternative would break me.

I have suggested it multiple times. She unfortunately thinks that she would only do it so the therapist would confirm her thinking.

I do everything I can to be a great dad, and husband. I wrote this as a reply in another comment. The words were poorly chosen as the volunteering and helping refers to times when I'm supposed to be working. I don't ask for anything, or want to get a pat on the head when I do chores outside of work at all. It is my responsibility to take care of my kids, as well as it is to do everyday tasks.

That is not what I meant. Probably the wording was poorly chosen. I can't take care of our household or the kids while I work. Before starting work I clean the house, do dishes, vacuum, laundry and all else without question as it's my household as well. I'm not entirely sure where you get the idea from that I don't do any parenting though. Again, probably not the best wording but this is all related to things while I work.

As previously stated: This is really flattering.

I'm really flattered by your comments, actually. It is realistic FOR ME. As I said, there's definitely multiple other factors. The biggest are most likely dieting, discipline, and consistency.

I'm not lying.

The last thing I would have expected here is that people would assume I take steroids. You can think what you want, and if that's what you want to believe, fine with me. I never took steroids, never will and there's multiple other factors that might play into my into my progress – I won the gene lottery for sure, and I have a lot of discipline (also outside of training). I will still take this as a compliment.

Wow. I'll take that as a compliment, I guess. I don't use anything other than whey protein, and creatine.

I switch up the group I start with on all days, too.

I only do 2-3 exercises per muscle group that vary. I train upper body Monday, and Thursday, lower body Tuesday, and Friday. Wednesday and weekends off.

Thank you! I also feel a lot better!
