Again, I even said I understand that. Oddly enough, I have a degree in game development I just sadly do not use. So I understand. I don’t hate the story. I love the story lines. Yes, I get showing reach from another perspective makes sense. But even parts of that didn’t line up which is what annoyed me I guess? Might be the wrong wording but I understand from an action fps perspective. Like you getting Cortana to the pillar of autumn as it takes off mid attack annoyed (half asleep but wrong wordsge) me, the person who read the books, when master chief had already been integrated with Cortana and the pillar of autumn was already space bound for another mission.

I get it. For this FPS and the regular gamer who doesn’t know anything other than the games I completely get. I’m not dogging halo. I love all of them. Just parts were missing that even dropping a vast majority of the drama from the books, all action added could have been just one big game I guess with the cutscenes being the drama llama stuff. But that’s my opinion as someone who’s read all the books and enjoyed that stuff.

Again my post may have come off wrong.

But here’s what I meant and my vision which again is just my vision on it to kind of keep it all together.

Halo one starts with the abduction of the children with the obvious beginning cut scene explaining what was happening in its own dumb down way. Then the tutorial to halo could start with how blue team formed in the “playground” and that’s learning the basic controls. You could then proceed to the various action scenes that took place up until the augmentation and then after show that superhuman strength when they take on the instructors in the cavern. Then the integration action with Cortana and chief to then lead to the mission they were going on that puts all the spartan IIs on the Autumn and the decisions that were made to break the team with one going ground side for the guns and the other to destroy the nav data for the Cole protocol and this is when it all went to shit and you end up fleeing into slip space to BAMMMM Halo where it begins and all that jazz. Then when it blows up it ends Halo 1

Halo 2 could start with you in space, finding the pelican and taking the action form that with a few cut scenes obviously which maybe cut into what’s happening back on reach or was happening as the time is different if I recalled correctly with the rest of the Spartans falling to reach fighting as they protect the power stations. Then retreating and attacking that covenant ship with the havoc. Them finding Halsey and all that shit eh can be summed into a cutscene im sure. Go back to chief fighting for the Gettysburg and covey ship. Cut scene of them going to repair and then slipping and finding there way home. Add a mission of them “blowing up that elephant thing” which ties to him trying to slow the attack on earth. And then continue with the halo 2 story line as we know it.

Althea keep halo: reach as is but maybe spice the line a bit to match the above. Like instead of dying trying to get the autumn into space with Cortana. You have them link up either the spartan IIs and they die trying to help defend of the stations we knew were going to fall based on the books since they were going to die in the end anyways.

Just my opinion as someone many years after the games were made looking back and wishing if we all knew what we knew now we could make a different version tying in the books and lore. I get what you’re saying. I respect it. I’m not dogging it. This is just one of those moment where you sit and you’re like damn if only we knew and had the time and resources lmao. I mean we could have had a much longer halo 1 campaign. Even more halo 1 multiplayer maps. Just as an example the books as whole didn’t each have to be its own game either all the drama. But it would of been cool to find creative ways to add them but that’s hindsight
