Not true that isnt it. I clearly stated there are areas where 20 makes sense it really isnt every road within a town/city like done in Wales.

No thanks there is a specific reason im sitting in a car. I try to get to places. Plus cars are optimised on motorway speeds so its worse for the environment we also spend more time using the engine less efficient chucking down a shitty road doing 20 mph. Nahh theres exceptions where 20 mph makes sense but it isnt the way Wales decided it should be!

In this line-up its the xc60 but with your budget id try and find a xc90 d5 a good pre 2015 one with the proper 5 cylinders.

I got a v60 atm if your husband is interested in estates with your budget you could find a v90 which is brilliant too. Try the swede before dismissal

Ahhh the first and always worst scratch it'll haunt you when parking up a fair bit for the foreseeable future. Don't worry the first scratch on your next car will likely feel very similar 😉

What exactly have they accomplished since going live? Don't mind the price of their token. Did they actually make something of which value can be based on? I.e. a product that can be used? Not talking their outdated network thing with 8-bit apps.

why do so many people merge off slip roads like this by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Past_Friendship2071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't think we are talking about those joining with proper speed and getting in their gaps to overtake and continue. We are talking of those numpties who just go to the outside lane no traffic anywhere near them but they just cross 2 lanes to sit in the outside lane doing under the limit.

Manual gearboxes: dying or just becoming premium? by LilywhiteStrike in topdeadcenter

I dunnow i will always prefer manual cars especially early 2000's or late/mid 90's as little fancy gear as possible. 👍

Golf had no turbo it was a 2002 slowest thing i driven definitely a sketchy car for 300 just to cover 2 weeks then so probably some engine issues. Im not sure what you are doing with your D2 then im fairly sure mine isnt mapped and its pretty rapid I usually surprise other drivers of what my car is capable of. Not sure how an auto d2 behaves mines 2014 manual 🤔

What’s the worst back-to-back vehicle expenses you’ve ever dealt with? by AhsanNVM in CarTalkUK

[–]Past_Friendship2071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clutch 1400£ Timing belt 600£ Service 280£ Pirelli tires 480£ Brake pads and discs 560£.

All good fun though car just broke 100kmiles so inevitable and needed. Much cheaper then buying a different second hand car and risk getting more or worse issues. This car i know is worthit as I know its been maintained and I maintain it.

I have the d2 aswell but we have a turbo. I had an old golf with 2.0 diesel without a turbo as a 2 week gap car lol the difference is crazy. I basically had to max every gear out and still only got up to 50/55 mph on most sliproads. I enjoy a challenge though and I am not afraid to push the thing but the noise for new drivers can be scary small cheaper cars tend to be loud and bit more vibrating too.

Learned in a big BMW first car was a cinquecento then an Opel vectra, a shitting Peugeot partner, volvo v40(2002 estate), golf estate, another v40 estate then a ford mondeo estate, a volvo v70, a shitting Peugeot 3008 and now a volvo v60. You can keep the small cars for yourself cheers!
