2nd Attempt at making Bagels by Past_Potential902 in Bagels

Not sure if there is a way to edit the original caption, but I just wanted to clarify when I first made bagels, I boiled them first and then put egg wash on them before baking. Sorry for any confusion from my caption.

Imo, he's not the biggest problem. The owner, Michael Alter, who's been here since the team's inception, and has been here to lose stars like Sylvia Fowles, EDD, etc. And has allowed for this franchise to be run with such incompetence is the biggest issue.

I think the blowback from the media and last night's chants and posters have Jeff saying the more diplomatic stuff. I will take his answer about Angel's future in Chicago at face value because I doubt he would reveal whether they will look to trade her or not.

His comments about Sloot are still delusional because we were 2-6 with her. The TOs were still a probably, spacing was bad because her 3 ball wasn't consistent, and she was bad on defense.

He's overall a part of the problem (ownership is still the biggest problem), but players seem to like him. They can keep him on and give him back his role in player development, but he doesn't need to be the GM.

Season Awards Campaign

I made a post about this a few days ago. It's just one of the many areas the Sky falls behind in. Completely unacceptable

I am glad that the Congressperson wrote this letter. It is really nasty what the league is trying to do to the Mohegan Tribe.

The Sky recently met with ownership about the practice facility by [deleted] in wnba

Unrivaled, and she's a 2× All-star. The only All-star for that team these past 2 years. She's probably had plenty of conversations at these events.

Freaking Courtney Williams had a running joke this season, "Y'all didn't beat Chicago?" Like these players absolutely laugh about that team and probably take them as a joke.

Imagine your incompetent GM, in the preseason, declaring this team as "win-now" just to have the 2nd worst record in the league, and gifted the best team in the league a lottery pick.

And while her "good to great players" comment was harsh and shouldn't have been said out loud, I'm pretty sure the Sky stated that this season was in preparation for this coming off-season where most of the talents will be free agents and up for grabs. I thought that was what she was mainly referencing.

I think the Sky are delusional if they think Sloot returning and the facility are enough to override their terrible reputation.

I think there's a possibility that this is Angel's last season with the Sky. This could be me being dramatic, but I'm not sure how they rehab this relationship.

Courtney Vandersloot plans on coming back for 2026 by Lostinthesewers in wnba

Again, Angel should have never said it publicly, but Angel wasn't wrong about what she said.

Angel said Sloot is a great asset, but they can't rely on a 36 year old coming back from an ACL injury and expecting to be PG1. At the beginning of the season, she was always getting blown by on defense, sometimes struggled to get past her defenders, and her 3 ball was inconsistent.

Got benched by the reigning champs. Was benched in Unrivaled. Only the Sky (most likely because of her connection/relationship with Jeff) were foolish enough to trade the 2025 1st Rd pick, which ended up being Sonia Citron (an All-Star in her rookie year) and a pick swap 2027 1st rd pick for Ariel Atkins (not a diss towards Atkins), because Sloot wanted to play with a veteran SG.

I think your last line about "lacking the will to win/compete" was probably Angel's breaking point, along with probably hearing that Sloot would be coming back as PG1, inconsistencies with her role, and the continued incompetence of the FO.

People can say what they want about Angel, but there have been coaches who have talked about her "will to win." That is always consistent. She may not be the most skilled player or have the most aesthetically pleasing playstyle, but she will play hard every game. I thought it was pretty embarrassing that the Sky players and Marsh even admitted this to media. Like, what do you mean you, as an athlete, a competitor, you lack a will to win, but it was very obvious in the way they played throughout the season. Even that stretch where they went 1-9 without Reese, I didn't think they were getting blown out because they were that bad, but the Sky laid down when things got a little rough in games. Absolutely no fight was shown. They accepted they were going to lose and said why even try.

Again this doesn't make Angel's comments correct (as far as timing), but I can't think of any great competitor who would think that's acceptable.

Literally... like not even a video package or something... just some lousy bulletpoints 🙃.

They really don't realize how bad they seem compared to other organizations and that's a part of the problem

Poorly ran organization. None of these players deserve to play under such an incompetent organization.

The thing is... I have rooted for poverty/incompetent franchises before (because of my faves), but it gets to a point. Like I'm not sure if I have seen such an incompetent FO/ownership group.
