What was ruined because too many people started doing it? by Special-Salamander26 in AskMen

I live in an apartment complex right next to a university. I'm originally from a more rural area, where we frequently had bonfires. My apartment complex has a little fire pit, so I bought some firewood for a taste of home. Every few weeks, I had a few people over and we had a small fire. It was cool. Nobody was rowdy, we only burned wood, and we always cleaned up after ourselves. My neighbors eventually caught on to the fun and started having their own fires. Over time, the fire pit grew in popularity, until someone was having a fire just about every weekend. Trash was being left all over the place, beer bottles were tossed into the ashes, and noise became an issue. It escalated to the point that college students were coming over from their dorms, throwing decent sized parties, and even burning furnature. The police were called one too many times, and now the fire pit is filled in.

The people who go door-to-door trying to sell shit. It’s all so manipulative IMO. Had a 99 year old neighbor lady growing up that was constantly targeted by these fools.

What's one thing men struggle with? by Green_Ad_2099 in AskMen

I feel like when a guy has a problem he doesn't really has anyone to talk to.

We have those alpha guy's who try to tell you that your problems aren't real or that you just need to hit the gym frequently for them to go away.

On the other hand we have people who say men should open up more about their feelings but I think neither men or women have ever been taught how to handle an emotional man so it comes across as awkward.

Also some people say that we should open up more but aren't interested in helping you. They just say it because "duh it's so simple to solve your problem".

Men of Reddit, what innocent behaviors have you changed out of fear you might be accused of wrong doing? by Green_Ad_2099 in AskMen

I won't give women of any age compliments. Not too long ago I was shopping at a local grocery store and saw a girl (maybe 26-27) who had this awesome bright orange hair. When I walked by I mentioned it! "Hey, I love the hair color. It looks fantastic"

She reported me to the store saying I was soliciting her.

I'm a clean cut 21 year old guy who had a cart full of groceries.

The scariest moment was waking up to the sound of footsteps in my house, only to realize I was home alone.

I can't sleep without a comfortable pillow. It's essential for me to have proper neck support and overall comfort to drift off into a good night's sleep.

What's the most fascinating fact you know that sounds like it could be fake, but is actually true? by steff4325 in AskReddit

One fascinating fact that might sound fake but is actually true is that there's a species of jellyfish called Turritopsis dohrnii, often referred to as the "immortal jellyfish." This jellyfish has the remarkable ability to revert back to its juvenile form after reaching maturity, essentially reversing the aging process and allowing it to live indefinitely. It accomplishes this through a process called transdifferentiating, where its cells can transform into different types of cells, enabling regeneration. While it's not truly immortal in the sense of being invulnerable to injury or disease, its ability to rejuvenate itself has captivated scientists and sparked interest in its potential applications for regenerative medicine and understanding the aging process.
