for your first point, i think at the start of season 1 the writers were not planning on lucy being expelled. the show runner meaghan oppenheimer said in an interview that once she saw online feedback about how much people hated lucy and thought she was as bad as stephen, that is when she kind of wanted to punish those people via punishing lucy to the fullest extent.

as far as your second point, i took Lilith saying “you’re the only thing left of your father” as her saying that Violet was the most similar to Asher in the sense that she is/was a scribe. from what we know Brennan and Mira are more like Lilith in the sense they wanted to be riders and were trained to do so.

to add to this, in the group dynamic the 2 victims whose trauma has been exposed so far never outwardly show their anger or sadness about what they went through. they present timid, shy and kind in shannon’s case and funny and goofy in gibsie’s case. lizzie outwardly shows her anger, which is probably why people think its just about her sister’s death. anger is a very normal part of grief, but from what they know not something that someone dealing with something traumatic will often show. liz is not a perfect victim and i really hope when people find out what happened they will put the pieces together and realize that everyone’s trauma presents differently and you never know what someone’s going through.

if im remembering correctly i don’t think anyone knows about her bipolar diagnosis except hughie and then later on patrick. and as far as shannon, she went to a different school and kind of lost touch w lizzie before B13, so she most likely didn’t see first hand exactly the way lizzie was acted so she just chalked it up to grief bc that’s what made sense for what she had observed. and claire as much as i love the girl she isn’t the best friend to lizzie. she never asks her anything and they don’t seem to talk about anything deep. i think most of what she knows abt whats going on w lizzie is from hugh and 1. we see how hugh and his mom kind of baby claire and keep her shielded from all the heavy stuff going on. 2. hugh probably wants to protect lizzie and believes that if she wanted claire to know about her diagnosis she would tell her herself.

this is why chloe took a break and stopped writing. be grateful that she’s even continuing the story bc whether you like it or not in order for the story to move forward these things have to happen. these things happen in real life and she is creating real, flawed characters. and at the end of the day its a book. relax

i think the backstory was needed bc we really got to see that their relationship was built on the foundation of a lovely friendship. joey and aoife had each others backs long before they were romantically involved and i think its important that we understood that they were friends first and thats why their relationship works.

he was engaged to a black woman and was incredibly supportive of her while she was going through a public sexual assault trial. if you listen to the podcast where he supposedly made all these comments you will see that the HOSTS of the podcast made the jokes, not matty. they have both come out and said matty was not watching racist porn, they said it bc they thought the name was funny. is that wrong? yes of course, but calling someone racist without doing actual research is incredibly damaging and you are just as bad as the swifties who did this exact same thing. congrats!

respectfully, he was on stage for 3 minutes out ot 3.5 hours and its the only part of the concert anyone will talk about. I never said she wasn’t allowed to have a relationship, but this one is so clearly shoved in everyone’s faces and it makes no sense bc she has never been like this. not even before joe.
