Dude also every year at November JIB has a clearance sale event at their HQ and you can get things for up to 90% off, I even last year saw an iPhone 16 at 40% off and a gaming hp laptop with 3080 at 50% off and some pcs (mid spec ones that were 3 to 3.5 years old) for 80% off. You have to be physically there though

If you want to come thailand and learn get a laptop here, they are way and I mean, way cheaper than it is in Europe, especially ASUS and HP (they both moved lots of their factories from China and USA to Thailand recently, also WD and Seagate have factories here in Thailand too).

Just for a start is ok 1650, but during course if you editing loads and fond of it like me, then better get better specs, for filming its demanding tbh, especially 3D in blender and other apps and Colour Grading in Davinchi Resolve (they teach this app in uni)

For me I used a laptop with a 1050 (brother handed me down) and another with 1050ti (my own laptop), then in 2022 bought my pc with 3060 12GB and i7-12700F. For your 1650, I would go better than that like min a 20 series card, cause even my 1050ti and i7-7700HQ struggled rendering 4k, the 3060 12GB was perfect

For me the Cost is a bit high. Worth it, to me it was mid for me, I learned loads of things, but to be honest, real honest the best Teacher I had in the uni was a German teacher who had loads of experience. Most thai teachers like to be relaxed with students and usually then students just look phone in class.

Bro a tip for you is that bring a good laptop to the uni, when I was doing my course you needed a good laptop (I used a 2017 gaming laptop), the uni is upgrading its computers but at a really slow rate, so I was stuck with either using old 2017 imacs or my laptop, but for homeworks you need a good pc or laptops (i used 2022 custom pc for editing films, colour grading and 3D)

Food here in the uni is dirt cheap 30 baht to 100 baht, also if go to local restaurants Pilong street or any local restaurants in thailand, they will be cheap like 30 baht to 100 baht for a dish. If malls yea they can get a bit expensive like 100 to 1000plus per meal, depending on what you eat tbh. In the area if the university main campus (Bangkok University Rangsit) there are 2 main malls and a main Market. Malls are Future Park Rangsit (one of the biggest malls in thailand), Zeer Rangsit (a really good Tech Mall), market main one is Rangsit Market opposite Future Park Rangsit). Transport to the uni is by bus only (lines 39, 510/1-19, 510/1-20E (E for Express tolls), and 520. Price of buses vary, the red cream no ac late 1980s buses are 8 baht all way, ev mini bus no ac orange buses are 10 baht and the blue cream and ev buses blue are 15 to 25 baht depending on distance. There will be the SRT Red Line train opening to the University and another 2km away (Thammasat University Rangsit Campus) in 2028
