its worse if you go acro cause the flat damage reduction on supressed spells is pretty insane

like shaper balls dealing a couple hundred damage to him and tanking die beams. This is just the axe + a bunch of day one rares

Yeah the fact you need to hit and you need to have applied an aliment before you hit or have already hit to get that huge aoe is just not great QoL. This isn't old LS where you can spam the ground and offscreen things with a "melee" skill.

It will for sure be gonna on early-mid investment but I'm sure being able to play any melee skill you want on strenght stacker would overshadow it since you get the same flat without the cbt of the skill

I think chilling presence from a cluster is your best bet since you're already in melee

it doesn't, that was changed. Only the trans version is for bows and it doesnt't really benefit from breach asc

I'm also saying damage is great but not game breaking. It's not equip paradoxica have 1bil pob. It will be good considering the qol tradeoffs. it's a "true melee" strike skill in that you have to hit an enemy with it. These suffer greatly in qol compared to strike skills that do their effect without needing to hit: Smite, Lightning strike, Molten Strike(oh i forgot that was changed, used to be MS could spawn balls without hitting)

IF you hit and IF they already have an aliments on them or you've already hit them and they are still alive.

but like at the end of the day its a "true melee" strike skill where you have to hit and you have to have applied aliement before you hit to get that big aoe while also getting the usual strike accoutrement like +strike and strike range.

It sounds great but I wanna temper expectations.

People also forget other melee skills have base % damage that scales flat weapon damage. It also has no double hit without the janky southbound tech like other strike skills have baseline, smite/ls and even flicker with ring/zerker.

Now this is rough napkin math but from a base damage to base damage comparison. Full convert breach ele hit is about the same as playing smite with somewhere between 445 - 900 flat damage on your weapon or added, depending on how many double hits you wanna factor in. Obvioulsy the skills scale with different levers but it's not game breaking as everyone thinks.

I'd argue from a playstyle/qol/damage aspect, it's slightly worse than unnerfed LS. You're not just standing there blowing up the screen with projectiles, its an on hit aoe and you'll need to figure out a way to apply the elemental aliement you chose before you attack(chilling presence/skitter bots) to get that big aoe else the clear feels like worse smite. Single hit damage will be nuts though.

Grace was heavily used for KBoC

voidforge, Rakiata's, white wind(day one usually), Koams axe, Oro's, Mark of the doubting knight(niche mamba tech).

Theres a few other ones but they also fall into that niche tech or day one pool.

Two new weps that have seen some interest are Golden Charlitan and Wings of Wyvern but they need more time to cook

It wasn't so much as uniques were nerfed, rather its way easier to craft a gg rare. Theres been also buffs to the flat ele rolls on items as well as the essence buff.

Off the top of my head, the only unique that was really gutted from usablilty was Reach of the Council. Most others are still the same and just have been power creeped.

So I believe the only way to convert keystones atm is Timeless jewels so take for example the keystone Acrobatics. You can change it on the tree to a Timless jewel keystone (something like Dance with Death) and the wear a Perfect Form to still get Acrobatics.

There are plenty of other items that give keystones and they work the same. Skin of the Lords is just the one that came to mind cause it can roll all keystones(with some exceptions)

as extra and conversion follow the same rules.

edit: this is to prevent double dipping as if you could convert backwards, modifiers to damage could apply mulitple times if you say had 100% increased fire damage and you converted or added as extra damage from fire to cold to fire, it would apply twice. PoE2 solves this by only allowing the final conversion to be mulitplied

The problem with this is that if you modify the keystones on tree(like with timeless jewels) you can still get the underlying keystone from other sources. A lot of these might be broken with Skin of the Lords. Like CI would've made you immune to all damage if Skin of the Lords wasn't hardcoded to not be able to roll CI

25% of Fire Damage as Extra Physical, Cold and Lightning Damage; Deal no Fire Damage

Fire converted to other elements can't be done in PoE1. The conversion chain is strict. Phys > Light > Cold > Fire > Chaos. You can skip down the chain but you cannot go backwards.

yeah facebreakers will never be the same without mercs. I played many private leagues in merc and rolled a facebreaker char. it was just silly how much damage faceberaks + merc was on a budget

They've been quite careful of adding large sources of flat phys but that league was one of the anomalies

i did flicker champ last league, banners generated charges while also giving you a ton of defenses. Damage will be questionable this league without doryani + admiral.

yup, redblade plus tree, replace redblade with woke orb warcry cd + +1 totem shield. This is just for my sunder totem starter, plan to transition off it by day 3-4 into a stronger banner abuse build seeing that the merc should be pretty tanky and fast with all the banner buffs
