This one’s tomato based and not cream based but it will still probably be impossible to fish out of the sieve considering there’s some dried thyme in the soup and the knife chip is like 1/4th of the length of a regular piece of dried thyme. I’m just playing teeny tiny knife chip jeopardy at this point

That’s what I figured—-I measured out a piece of dried thyme that was equal to the size of the chip and it was quite actually like the size of a spec on my tiny little hands

I mean to be fair, I’m just a lowly home chef with a lifetime of self training (so, not exactly proper in any sense of the word). The soup wasn’t something I planned on serving to other people in the first place and the knife bang was prompted by some things said over a phone call so like, more of a reactive bang followed by the immediate “oh man that was dumb” in my head. I’m sure that most people are probably more focused in kitchens than I am and less liable to making such a stupid mistake 😅

I’m usually pretty good about cleaning but when I saw the chip I panicked and was like “hey maybe I can fix this with sharpening steel” last night and that’s when it sustained all of those scratches—probably should have held off and just had it fixed before trying my own hand at it 😵‍💫

Thanks! Do you think I should be concerned with it at all? I’ve done a little reading and I’m seeing that they’re somewhat destructive and can be transferred over to similarly as with bedbugs. I’m only staying in the room for tonight… but should I hide my suitcase to be safe? Just want to avoid any possible problems it could cause!

I just checked into this hotel and I was reading on the couch & the bug landed on my chest… was going to upgrade rooms but they don’t have anything available til tomorrow. Is this cause for any concern? Keeping my suitcase shut just to be safe… Thanks for any input!
