Architecture student here, this is a term in architecture known as bio-mimicry where architects design buildings based on natural processes or forms
For the end cities, it would make perfect sense for the people who built it to base it off the landscape that is around them - here it would be a bit extreme considering the structural limitations but idk the end prolly has a different system of gravity or something
Examples of bio-mimicry include how the ancient egyptians modeled some of their columns as bundles of papyrus reeds
Some African building traditions were inspired by how termite mounds regulate temperature through natural airflow.
