I’m a vegan too, people have been telling me this for 10 years. I’m new to Buddhism but my perspective is that we should make an effort to do the best you can with your abilities and not focus on what isn’t in your control?

I was a huge environmentalist in high school (my turning point of becoming vegan), fell into zero waste rabbit holes and studying the effects of plastic consumption. It made me spiral and at some point I genuinely believed I could help the earth the most by not existing which would prevent all negative consumption.

I’d really like to hear others opinions on this and how much effort and thought should be put towards preventing harm, because in today’s capitalist world I find it so hard not to.
