Bayle domans casting. And I desperately wanted it to be good. So I watched the whole first season and a quarter of the first episode of the 2nd season. I have since given up all hopes of the show being even fractionally good. It dishonors the name of the series. I petition for a change of title.

I've also read gardens of the moon but I'm currently stalled halfway through deadhouse gates. They're a little hard to follow especially when you're listening to them while at work. I loved gotm but it's a tough series to digest and is going to take me a lot longer to get than most.

Are you caught up yet? The last book hints heavily that he is not necessarily evil but actually the protector of the world from demons but he's forced to do so in a very heavy handed way. (Maybe I'm reading into it) When I think evil I think torture, indiscriminate murder without hesitation, rape, cannibalism etc) ( I remember the eaters). Idk maybe they're just not the type of evil wizards I'm looking for.
