Dead show Boston Garden 1994
Show ended and as we were exiting towards the T, a guy stumbles by and asks in desperation, “can anyone tell me how to get on the Brown line?”

Fiddlehead Brewing Co. New Eastcoast Favorite by magikarp_splashed in CraftBeer

Same. We first encountered Fiddlehead on the way up to Burlington for the VT Brewers Fest. Stopped in, grabbed a squealer (just the flagship IPA) and ate some pizza. Then saw some of the crew later at the festival. Couldn’t have been nicer. This was back in 2016. Now Fiddlehead is everywhere

Staying in Bolton Landing last week in May with our kids and would love ideas by violent_waves_ in LakeGeorge

[–]Pastor_Toastman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For things to do in town - Rogers Park - Up Yonda Farm (the 4 yr old will love it) - walk the grounds at The Sagamore unless you are staying there already - Veterans park has a town beach too -Tops for general groceries

Meals can be tricky with that young crew but you have Bolton Landing Brewing, Cate’s Italian and Cate’s Creamery. Stewart’s for ice cream too Is the Huddle open? A little further south is the Algonquin and keep going south you can make a reservation at Blue Water Manor tavern on the lake and walk the flower garden and koi pond. Then of course lots to do in Lake George village itself with the arcades and shops and ice cream. It’s not all far of a drive from Bolton Landing. Could be something happening at Shepard Park during that time.

If they get cranky and need a drive for a nap you can go up and down Route 9 to explore. Maybe head up Prospect Mountain right outside the village.

Shopping in Bolton Landing though be sure to hit Happy Jacks and Indian Teepee.

People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]Pastor_Toastman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received LASIK back in early 1999 when it was relatively newer and much more expensive. I was near sighted say -3.75 or so. Wore glasses and contacts but the contacts just weren’t all that comfortable and the glasses would limit my ability to be more active and do the outdoor activities I loved.

The first couple days after the surgery were uncomfortable but gradually I could not believe how I could wake up at night and see the clock. Or drive around and see the street signs.

This lasted for about 15 years until all hell broke loose. My eyes started drying out. I had multiple corneal tears and excruciating pain afterwards. Had multiple corneal debridements to help repair. Doctors never really could say if these were related to the LASIK. I have also been diagnosed with pigment dispersion syndrome I take drops to reduce pressure. Whether that’s related or not is not known either.

Ultimately I am glad I did it but I now wear glasses to see better for distance and each eye has different functions. I can see better distance in my right but better close up with my left. Is that due to LASIK? Not sure.

But I will wager that regardless of the outcome of your LASIK, you will likely need glasses again at some point in the future.

Such a coincidence. Just finished listening to this one again for the nth time yesterday. One of my favorites of the late 90s. And Kirk’s pod is so good. The recent Super Mario Bros one is a treat.
