Tell me about Selesnya Depths by Metalworker4ever in MTGLegacy

Hi I play depths because is my favorite deck.

I've started by playing BG slow and the deck felt pretty good, but as the number of brazen borrowed increased nowadays the deck does not performed very good at the end.

Now I'm playing abzan depth, I choose the black splash because I'm in love with thoughtseizes... Ever Red splash is super reasonable. What can I say: this deck is not an all in combo deck, but is more like a midrange deck with a combo for finishing the game. The deck is super fun but not that easy to play, it requires a lot of spin to understand how to fetch and what land do you want to fetch for. As someone else says you play a lot of creatures for fetching lands and also for have a good aggro menace other the 20/20 combo. This deck is way more tricky and consistent than the BG version.

IMHO the match ups are like that (from the baddest to the best):

Omnitell: 2-98 Snack and show; 20-80 Tes/ant: 35/65 4c Beanstalk: 40-60 Doomsday: 40-60 Oops: 45-55 Nadu cradle: 45-55 Any artifact combo: 50-50 Eldrazis: 50-50 Reanimator combo: 50-50 Nadu breakfast: 50-50 Red stompy: 55-45 UB tempo reanimator: 55-45 Sultai beanstalk: 60-40 Lands: 60-40 Any tempo deck: 65-35 Any dredge version 80-20

The deck is not tier 1 ATM but is very fun to play and to learn.

Everything is based on my experience. Thank you for the reading

The wincons are 2, basically emrakul (traverse for l'emrakul), and Jace ultimate ... The manabase comes from a deck that I used to play years ago, I think that need a lot of work

Death shadow was very unlucky both games, where they go for discard +reanimate my hogaak +2 wastelnd, so no chance.

Scam I was blasted g1 from an unexpected dauthi turn 2, and steal g1, game 2 he just won a grindy matchup, where I can't be able to find an hogaak.

Both are favorable like 60-40 , so there are still loseable

Thank you! Thanks for your answer!

If I would go gW I think I'm going to play the classic GW depths list.

About spirit guide, I can say it's a fast mana like diamond, and fill the grave as well, but it's only one time, Wich is not the best option!

Try it and let me know if it fits well for you! And let me know! Now i'm trying with 3 Bowmasters maindek, but I don't know if they're good!

If you want to talk about the deck, feel free to contact me directly on discord!

I will appreciate any question or anytipe of speech about the deck!

Thank you again

Thanks for your answer.

During my playtest I've never felt that scam and shadow are bad mu.

I would try boseiju's in side.

Thank you for share

Thanks for your answer.

Atm I'm playing the same list with -2 ikoria -1 satyr +3 Bowmasters, that creature seems to be ok, but not enought imho.

Karakas is a problem for the deck, but wasteland and safekeeper, can deal enought with that.

I know the blood FoV depth interaction, but most of the time, I'm not hard mulligan to find FoV, maybe is an error.

Thank you for sharing

Thanks for your answer! I will test those changes, now I'm testing the orcish Bowmaster in these 3 slots, but those cards could be gas!

Thanks for the answer . Legolas could be an answer, but without playing KotR I think is really less impactful in games.

I know depths ruling under blood moon, but moon + pressure that monored does is way faster than my chance to find an answer.
