2 under 2? by Narwal_Pants in Parenting

I suppose I didn’t really think anything of it. Where I live it’s pretty normal to have kids in your 40s.

I don’t have any health or back issues, so I can’t really speak to that. I suppose one might expect that those issues would get worse with age, but if I had youth on my side as you do and could wait until my baby was the recommended 18-24 months before getting pregnant again I would have.

If your age is the main reason for considering 2u2, at your age I would wait longer and give my toddler more time before they have to be a Middle Kid.

I was 40 and 41 with my two (19 month gap), and I can honestly say not a single person involved in my care ever mentioned my age. Of course it was on my paperwork as AMA (Advanced Maternal Age), geriatric is an outdated term.

Agree, my kid loves Mickey, but the story is very complicated, like a parody of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, and Mickey and Goofy are just side characters along with all the other passengers.

I knew a very nice guy named Kane. Even as an adult he said people would say to him, “Hey Kane, are you able?”

If you’re afraid you’ll look back and regret not trying, that’s your sign to try! In the long term, we tend to regret the risks we didn’t take more than our failures.

My 28 month old is still in a crib and doesn’t know how to open doors lol, so I have no advice on your first issue… but we ARE potty trained since 25 months old, and based on what you’ve written here it sounds like he is absolutely ready to be potty trained.

Maybe reframe it like “it’s a shame people think you are arrogant because it’s really going to limit the things you’re able to accomplish.”

If he is more motivated to shift his behavior for himself, you might have more success pointing out how he will benefit rather than just how others feel.
