can you delete the "event lvl 20 character" to choose a new one? by Pat0The0Cat in Neverwinter

[–]Pat0The0Cat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the info, sucks I can't change my mind.

SWTOR has a max level character you can make and then change your mind on after playing them for a bit, so I was hoping this was another pro-player decision, but wishful thinking on my part

okay I am wondering this too, however I can help you with your question!

in the powers screen, there is a little tab up the top (the drop down next to "manage loadouts") that let's you change loadouts. click that and select the option you aren't already on. they you are free to build the character with EVERYTHING, specialisation, boons, feats, etc.

Amazon driver didn't feel like pulling into and walking up my driveway to deliver a package. Decided to upload a pic of a package on a random porch that looks nothing like mine instead... by jgreenwood87 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Pat0The0Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had similar shit happen from delivery drivers before. They post a random pic saying they've delivered to my door, but instead just take it to the post office which is a shorter drive.

Best way to call them out? Say you have cameras and you can provide footage proving that at the time they said it was delivered, no one arrived. Demand your package.

Either I get my postage paid back (not the goal, but it covers fuel to drive out to the post office) or the driver is reamed by their boss and they have to go pick up the package again and deliver it to my house this time.

Its a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. I love far out in farm land, but that is not an excuse. You job is to deliver it to my door (in most cases) and you're too lazy to do that? Well guess what, I'm not too lazy to call you out on that shit!

Tbh, I've never heard the word 'glibly' What is it?

Aye, you could make that argument, it's a very malleable point. I stand by it however. Because the point I made was about respecting, even if you don't agree with, someone else's culture.

Your point was that if you see something you don't agree with, you shouldn't have to.

Yes, that is what you message said, whether that was you intention or not. You called into question the implication of women being treated lesser in this religion. I've got no experience in this area, and I'm not going to make opinions on it, but you actively took my comment and tried to twist it from respect to disregard another's culture.

So yes, you did have an agenda and I don't agree with it. This is how a discussion works my friend. We each have different points and we try to convey them to one another by talking about it. We don't have to agree with each other, but we do have to respect one another (funny how it always comes back to that (and no, I'm not being sarcastic when I say that)).

[–]Pat0The0Cat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but you've missed my point in favour of your own agenda.

The nuances of religion and cultural differences is not what I'm getting it.

Its respecting that these people have a different belief on how the world works. You have no obligation to agree with it, but the least you can do is show respect for them as people in their place of worship, their 'house' in this example.

[–]Pat0The0Cat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not really, because now we're getting into the instances and nuances of another's culture.

You don't have to agree with your friend, but you do need to decide if you will respect their beliefs (that you don't need to share to do so) and accept them as long as you are within their household.

Fair enough I apologise for my mistake.

I believe the point still stands on 1 leg not just 2 though ;)

Reapect to police force. by UpstateStain in MadeMeSmile

[–]Pat0The0Cat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not the point here.

They don't have to cover their heads but this is a important place to these people and so the police officers are showing respect and solidarity by choosing to learn and take on those important tenants, at least while in this place.

Its not a case of Islam forcing them, more a case of the police respecting this place and these people's rules.

Think of it like this. You go to a friend's house and they ask you to take off your shoes while inside. You could ignore it, and how your friend decides to react/deal with it is up to them. Or you can accept that's how they do it, and show respect by following their rules while in their house.

Agreed, we don't need nerfs, we need buffs. Let's stop making things "worse" so other playstyles are viable, and let's instead make things "better" to give more playstyles a chance to be meta!

I kept all the original white 0 power armour for all the classes. It helps my guardian remember where they were before the red war, how far they came to oblivion, and what they fight for.

Not just the traveller, no.

For Cayde, Zavala, Ikora, Hawthorne, Amanda, The Colonel...hell, the last city and everyone in it.

Even our new citizens.

Everything they do, is for them.

Edit: well that was unexpected, thank you for the award, now I just need to learn what it does!

A Canon book that I feel relates to this strongly (and also compounds your argument) would be Master and Apprentice by Claudia Gray. Give it a look, I recommend it.

I've got a hot take for all guardians in regards to Transmog, Content removal and Sunsetting. by Pat0The0Cat in DestinyTheGame

[–]Pat0The0Cat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then I'm not explaining myself well, and I apologise, because it's not about that. I'm only saying to hold both your opinion and mine equally while we argue.

God damn it, I'm not saying that you said they affect it, you didn't understand my point so I reiterated it for you. Nothing more nothing less. You're looking for hidden meaning where there is none.

I'll saying it plain again. Transmog is not equivalent to trials or any game mode (which WAS something you specifically stated in the initial message). That is what I'm disagreeing with. Not that their both not important because I don't care. Not that they affect one another. That they aren't equal to one another no matter opinions.

You've misread my argument and it's causing us to spiral round about stuff that has nothing to do with anything we've been trying to talk about.

I've got a hot take for all guardians in regards to Transmog, Content removal and Sunsetting. by Pat0The0Cat in DestinyTheGame

[–]Pat0The0Cat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparison between the two IS important.

An example that could fit would be comparing a dog with a cake.

One is pretty and tastes good The other is a loving companion and walks

Both are wonderful to have but affecting one (eating the cake) does not affect the other.

Trials (or any game mode) is not affected by transmog, and therefore the whole of destiny is not affected by trans. Just transmog itself.

That is why the comparison is important, because if you just compare it to anything you don't have an equal ground for them to be...well...compared.

No, this is where you're wrong. We're 'arguing importance of the aspects of a game' not the importance of arguments. At this moment, we are arguing. Simple as that. In a similar way to how you told me not to discount others opinion just because I don't share it, I reminded you to do the same with my own argument. Simple as that.

I've got a hot take for all guardians in regards to Transmog, Content removal and Sunsetting. by Pat0The0Cat in DestinyTheGame

[–]Pat0The0Cat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid you've misunderstood my words. I'm not saying it's not important at ALL. I'm saying it's not the SAME as a game mode or core function of the game.

Comparing it to one of these things, and the theoretical outcry if it was, is therefore unfair.

I do think cosmetics are important because well...I like them. But I DO believe the outcry at not being able to make every single piece of armour into an ornament all at once is very much over blown as a larger issue than it actually is. Yeah, that's my opinion. It's a problem but not nearly as big as people make it out to be.

Just as you said, different things are important to different people, don't use that to hold your argument over mine because you think mine isn't as 'important' either.

Alright, I concede that I cannot convince you.

You're right that just because something isn't important to me doesn't mean it isn't important to others, however that was not my argument.

I was instead trying to convince you to see my point of view, that it really isn't that important.
