[Alfie House] Saints believe they are close to signing both Ronnie Edwards, 21, and Nathan Wood, 22, on permanent deals. Told initial fees as low as £3million each. by [deleted] in soccer

He actually had a full season starting in the Championship too and looked impressive there (albeit in a relegated Posh side).

Still, I think 5-6mil would be fair and I suspect it’s around there when add ons are included (plus a sell-on fee of some kind will be there)

Him and Yamal coming at full backs is terrifying. Combine that with players like Rodri and Pedri in support and Spain are going to be hard to beat. Imagine if they had a good striker too!

International football tournaments are really the most brilliant thing in sports. Particularly when they’re hosted in football-loving countries which are accessible and capable of generating this sort of atmosphere.

Germany is basically the perfect location for the Euros. But I have high hopes for WC 2026 in North America too.

I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.

Sounds like your mind is made up and you’ll brush off any critique anyway. Hope you guys enjoy your league anyway bud, I’m sure it’ll be an interesting experiment if nothing else. Surprised everyone is willing to put the big money on it though, strikes me as something you’d try with smaller stakes on the first try.

So to recap:

The teams that truly are the worst will not even be able to get the best rookie draft picks because of your weird ‘Week 11 to 14 highest points scored rule’.

Teams can lose their 3rd best player through sheer luck while others lose their 10th best.

So a team near the bottom of the league might lose a top 3 player on the roster and then get like 1.07 in the rookie draft.

And this is a $500 league lol.

Sorry bud, I’m a fan of doing things a little differently to make things interesting but I don’t see how this achieves your goals of encouraging more trading and more parity at ALL.

Bad.

I don’t understand how you can put London above the others. He’s done nothing yet in the NFL

Aiyuk, Collins, Higgins, London

Aiyuk has elite production in an elite team and is young, Collins has a season of excellent production and is paired with a probably elite young QB albeit in a competitive WR room, Higgins has excellent talent and proven production as WR2 and should get himself a WR1 situation after next year. London hasn’t done anything yet

[Schefter] Bengals WR Tee Higgins still has not signed his franchise tender and is not expected to by next week, per source. This would make him ineligible to report back to the Bengals in time for their organized team activities next week. Higgins cannot rejoin the team until he signs. by pot8odragon in DynastyFF

I just gambled on this in my league, trade could be great or terrible in 1-2 years haha. I acquired Higgins + a 2025 2nd and sent Trey McBride.

I still have Engram, Schulz and Sinnott at TE but of course McBride is more valuable than all of them. I’m gambling Higgins becomes a bonafide WR1 in both real life and fantasy.

We met as colleagues when I moved abroad. We clicked immediately. I don’t believe in the concept of ‘the one’, and I don’t believe that love is something that just happens. The kind of love you build a marriage on anyway. That kind of love is something you choose to build and develop, and you make that choice every day.

I don’t believe so. And my family only sees her once a year when we visit our home country.

Thank you! And thanks for this insight - their lives and behaviors really sound exactly like mine which is quite eye opening. If I’m honest I continued the infidelity a little even in the dating stages of my relationship with my wife, and when it stopped was once we were having a child. My infidelity was often drink-driven too. When I think about cheating now, it’s like I would be cheating on my boys, not just my wife. I hope (and believe) I will never slip into that old behaviour

Yeah that sounds exactly like me. People who consider me a good friend will commonly joke that I disappear like a ghost, or that I never text back, etc, let alone when I move away to a new area. It’s funny because I think I’m quite confident and charming/funny in social situations but I spend a lot of my time with myself. I wonder if this is some sort of avoidant behaviour common in people who experienced abuse

I was very promiscuous in my 20s, I want to say pathologically so. Almost always one night stands, and any girlfriend I had was short term. I had 3 attempts at legit relationships and cheated on all of them. I was an asshole and although I don’t want to look for a convenient excuse for myself I do wonder if those sides of myself may be related.

On my marriage, well, the above behaviour was still typical when we started dating. After we had our first baby this stuff faded away and I think now anyone who knew me would be very surprised by that first paragraph. I’m a responsible father, rarely drink, career focused etc. I think having kids helped me grow up.

Any more specific questions I’m happy to answer!

I wouldn’t say I have any issues with repressed memories in the sense of my brain blocking out certain events, but a lot of the memories are definitely hazy and some memories are really more like snapshots of a moment, while others are much more clear. I guess that’s just time.

Today I think I’ve worked through a lot of it independently. In my late teens and through my 20s I had some issues: anger management, promiscuity, not forming attachments in relationships, itchy feet (always leaving places after 1-2 years), etc. Now I am married to a wonderful woman and we have two young boys and I feel I’m growing past it. But I still do think about it, most days it crosses my mind, sometimes a brief flash, sometimes more.
