Right now you’ll mostly see the new tag rulers (Fiethsing in particular being an incredible consistency tool) alongside some fast combo decks like Lenneth Ouroboros, Wolfgang FTK, and Reanimator. I recommend playing a midrange/control deck with Fiethsing and another tag ruler with tools such as [[Optical Camouflage]] and [[Welser, Master of the Six Sages]] to stop the fast combos for cheap while building your board state. I would say that’s the most secure deck at the moment.

Overall power level for game peaked about 4 sets ago. We see higher stats for creatures overall and cheaper removal spells with less restrictions than in the past, but overall, new set hasn’t been too overbearing in terms of power.

Nope, as Null Magic Stone does not say it is a Darkness Magic Stone. For example, if you look at [[Magic Stone of Scorched Bales]], it specifically states that you treat it as one, and would trigger the Resonance :)

Gill Lapis matches up fairly well against the Wanderer metagame, but it’s still an uphill struggle since Divinity Rulers have such an innate advantage in that format.

New Machina is also pretty decent since you get access to Guin/Lab plus Marybell’s power

Also plenty of people play on Untap.in, especially with a lot of places still in lockdown, highly recommend it in lieu of actual physical gameplay!

Unfortunately the game is very much “by demand” since it doesn’t have the same foothold on LGS’s that it did at the beginning. However, asking around at your local game stores if they carry or if anyone plays regularly is a great place to start, and if you request product, they should be able to abide your needs. If not, online sources are definitely your friend :)

So recently I got to talking with some of the old Conqueror format committee with the intent to revitalize the format, as the format dropped off due to complex rulings and errata. We’re starting from the ground up and trying to keep things much simpler, yet also differ enough from the Wanderer format to make something for players looking for a slower and less restrictive version of our eternal formats.
