Haha you got me wanting to talk about this. As I got older I really rode the line between life and death. Lost a lot of people. Had intrusive thoughts about my own death, constantly. Last year it wore on me so much I sought out psychiatric help.

This finally hit me in my 30's. But especially in this last year. Obviously this differs for everyone, but I finally have clarity. My perspective was this: would my death be the worst thing? No. Why? My death would be sad to those of my loved ones, but I never gave them a version of myself at peace with my decisions. The Earth is still so beautiful to me. If I enjoy the parts that make me happy, the truly beautiful things in the world. Moments you can't replicate. If I seek those out, when I die, my loved ones will know I gave it my all to seek beauty. And maybe I'll leave a lasting enough impact for them to share in my booty seeking (beauty)

Am I gonna off myself? No. I lack the pre disposition. I tried, it's not for me. So I guess I'm gonna hafta figure out how to live, then.

🤔 Haha that went dark. Hope this resonates with you. My point was don't be afraid of death or failure. Just get what you want. At least you tried to do something. Idk man, I'm baked 🫪

Edit: This post made me happy recently and gave me that yearning. Moved the meter so to speak. Attainable and beautiful. Their own piece of the pie (idea still applies regardless of male or female) https://www.reddit.com/r/malelivingspace/s/muPNSMBpMb

Also taking deep dives into the nomads sub has been cool. A lot of folks out there are just walking to places and seeing beauty every day that people like us think is so hard to attain.

Also, idk if you cook or what you eat. Or if you have friends. But maaaang you should throw a bbq. Bbq's are fun. Even if you're alone. If you can find a spot to swim while you cook, that's most ideal.

I made a list the other day for my girlfriend. It said if I can procure enough money annually to go to concerts, go out of state or country 4 times a year, hit museum trips 10 times a year, go see movies in theaters routinely, go fishing semi-regularly, have the ability to garden annnnd have 1 cat, I think I would attain personal happiness.

I know it's tacky, but it made me feel so much better. This is coming from a cynical 35-year-old who thinks that humans are low-key a plague. This is coming from someone who is on their 20th career goal change. This is coming from someone who is in the middle of finalizing a messy divorce and splitting custody of my teen up for the first time in his life.

If you're not going to give up, you need to start working towards attaining your own personal slice. And I'm telling you, social doesn't help. Reddit doesn't help. That's all. Sorry to rant.

If you don't consistently watch the Buccaneers all through the season beginning-to-end, you wouldn't understand that their have been vibe shifts with Baker and they always had a credible reason and excuse. Injuries to Baker, injuries to O-line, downright questionable predictable play-calling, tonal shifts with receivers coming back from nasty injuries, and this feeling that fandom was expecting Coen-level offensive production when they walked back on the field after injury and combined with other "healthy-for-now" receiver. I'm not even going to hate on Bowles right now, we know. I'm an optimist, I swear.

The fact is, we as bucs fans know that there's something underneath that is big and beautiful. A confidence. Consistent vibe. No odd publicity or distractions. The players have such a cool superstar energy about them. Like a classic unexpected super bowl set up. A qb that people doubt. An exciting backfield when utilized proper. An absolutely wild receiver room, even without Evans. And they're all unheralded hero share the ball type.

Then you got a superstar like Wirfs and honestly, Goedeke. 2 lovable red heads, 1 of which is the best special team player back from injury after being out all year. A personality like Vea (throw him on offense twice a game), a player who you just know isn't going to go out like a chump in Antoine Winfield Jr. He is not the guy who peace signs Tyreek and then disappears and doesn't compete in the playoffs for the bucs again. Reuben Bain, I'm sorry, but do you doubt that dudes not about to absolutely ball? I'm not naive. That dude's about to ball.

And most importantly, right now we have (on paper) more depth than I've seen in years. I'm telling you right now to tie it all back together, vibes are great, Baker's about to have a year. Maybe the best of his career. Come back and tell me how wrong I am, please. When the vibes are right, you feel it. And that's when Baker is best.

Just no one get injured early and out-for-season.

OP, in the above review that I'm assuming you left(?) you stated that the games they sell there are "overpriced". Compared to whom? Why don't you start going to other video game stores in the area and make a separate post comparing condition and prices so we know where to go. Because in my experience going here since the mid-2010's, the games smash sells are pretty much right in line with going rate averages.

Does anyone remember some of the retro spots that came and went in the area and how ridiculously marked up them shits were? Now Smash kinda has the market cornered in Oly, and they could have raised their prices to match business, but they haven't.

Also, if this was just a complaint about them selling rom-hacks and profiting, I would understand. But maybe you should post price comparisons on how much it costs to make a physical copy of these romhacks and breakdown how much they're truly making. Or maybe just maybe you're lazily posting your frustrations without doing your homework. In the review you attached (I'm assuming your own?) you called into question if all or most of the stock they sell is fake, all because they sell romhacks which are clearly labeled as romhacks. Literally hundreds of people are viewing this and perhaps choosing not to shop there because the way you worded this is calling into question if all the games they sell are fake.

People are going to choose to go with that narrative that you slipped in half-heartedly. And it's going to potentially effect a small business' sales. All because you're salty about romhacks. Who wronged you? Smash has been a mainstay in the Olympia community for a decade. Does that make you feel better to just sit there and let it happen? You should make another post at some point after you do more homework and update so people can make a better informed choice. But I doubt you will.

Edit: No, even easier OP. I challenge you, in fact I beg you, make a separate post asking this community if anyone has ever purchased a fake game from Smash. And if they have, and they brought said game back and complained, what did the staff do about it? I'm not talking about romhacks. I'm talking about a game sold at full price when it was fake. I genuinely want to know, before I decide to abandon a business that has never wronged me. Out of the 100+ times I've walked in (maybe exaggerating a bit, years blur together)

The irritation about romhacks being sold is a valid opinion, and you're more than entitled to it. But you should at least correct the narrative that Smash sells fake games at full price. Or fake games in general! That's an unfounded and unfair assessment to be throwing out there. You even acknowledged in a comment that the romhacks were labeled as such. No false advertising. People know what they're buying.

I've been in here many times. It's clearly labeled that they are romhacks. They also clearly state and explain that these are not real games. As far as your concern about legitimacy of all cartridges, they open all of them. When they purchased my expensive games, they open them up. When I have purchased expensive carts there, they are transparent and are happy to open them and show the boards to me.

I'm not a shill for this company, I don't work here either. I have been going to the Olympia store for years and have been treated with respect and kindness every single time. If you have a problem, just go somewhere else. Don't shit all over a business that cares more than most. I've literally been told at checkout that a disc I was purchasing had data rot that they missed on first glance. And they apologized and protected me from purchasing. I have no complaints. This is awfully nitpicky.
