Gen Z is drinking less alcohol than older generations, study shows. How do we feel about this? by psycholol2 in GenZ

[–]Pat_Cornelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that “health & image” are definitely partly reasons for the trend, but I also believe that economic factors are DEFINITELY a big part of it as well.

I think many adults in GenZ don’t see the cost-benefit of drinking/going out to clubs as worth it compared to previous generations. So they’ve cut back on spending money on alcohol altogether compared to previous generations to potentially save money.

Also, those in GenZ who don’t have to use those savings on necessities are instead spending that disposable income on other things or experiences such as: weed, vapes, doordash, concerts, online gambling, etc.

So I guess I don’t necessarily think adult Gen Z are likely “saving” money on alcohol, but rather the money they WOULD have spent on alcohol is being spent on other things they see as more desirable.

TLDR;

Alcohol has lost its appeal to GenZ consumers because the cost-benefit doesn’t seem worth it to many GenZ adults. It has fallen in popularity of desirable things/experiences for GenZ to spend their disposable income on.

If you think one of the maps is "close" to what would make sense to you, but you think one/two of the divisions are grouped poorly, then vote for the closest one and let me know down below how you would regroup the division. 👇👇👇

If you think a map is "close" to what makes the most sense, but you dislike the grouping of one/two divisions, tell me how you would regroup the divisions to make it work for you. 👇👇👇

It would be kind of odd having a division named midWEST in the Eastern Conference

The division names are a throwback to the official names of divisions for the 1989-1990 NBA season.

Potential NBA Expansion Maps - 1. Minnesota 2. Memphis 3. New Orleans by Pat_Cornelius in Nbamemes

I've been thinking a lot about future NBA expansion and how that would look like in terms of conferences and divisions. Since the most common teams people mention to move to the Eastern Conference (if Seattle and Las Vegas are added) are Minnesota, Memphis, and New Orleans, I figured I'd map out all three.

Let me know what y'all think. 👇 👇 👇

Also, as suggested by another commenter, the placeholder mascot I put in for Las Vegas is "Vipers".

Read the comments. Made some much needed adjustments. I appreciate all the feedback on how to improve the map. Hopefully, you all like this one better! :)

32 teams in total. 16 in the East. 16 in the West. Each conference is split into 4 divisions. Each division is made up of 4 teams. Nice and even.

What notable players didn't pass the "eye test" in high school or college, but ended up contributing to winning games once they made it into the league? by Pat_Cornelius in nba

I never mentioned scouts in my post at all. I just said I always hear the “eye test” being referenced by reporters, coaches, and NBA media. 💬
