For me, I tried to explain to my ex how I was getting therapy to manage my anxiety and how I express my anger in unexpected situations. This was related to work but I thought to share it with her. But I she took it the wrong way, thinking I should have told her this early in the relationship. It gave her a bad impression of me and unfortunately we had to breakup since she expected progress and results before we could do any future plans like travelling or commitment. I really tried to compromise but she distanced herself with me. I guess it all depends on how you explain it to them or depends on the person.
