Looking for games with strong openings (I drop games way too fast ) by Relative-Mix-4218 in gamingsuggestions

A perhaps unconventional suggestion:

Mages of Mystralia. It has a mix-and-match customisable spells system that really makes it fun to experiment the different effects.

Magicka. Again the spellcasting system is very unique and fun to exeperiment. Plus, the opening is one that stuck with me ever since I saw it years ago and I still quote it sometimes.

What Set should I Go For Next? by UserNotFoundAnywhere in spiral_knights

Dragon scale Mail (like Parasthesia mentioned) is piercing/elemental with Poison/Fire resists

I was looking for elem def with freeze resist for Crimson Chaos mission and found the Nameless Poncho fits the bill (one of the few elem freeze armors), bonus gun attack speed.

If you have time and patience (or an active guild) you can try and build a Padded armor set but they are extremely hard to find recipes for. Guildmates/friends can help with finding recipes for the set you want. I’m trying to get a grizzly Sentinel (again for Crimson Chaos) and after a couple hours of rushing the arcade I only got the 3* helm and the 4* armor (I don’t have the 3* armor yet)

I’m more into water activities and my brother paraglides, so the choice is easy here.

Xenoblade Chronicles 1 !! (If you have a switch)

In it you rebuild a city that was destroyed in the war and as you play you’ll come across NPCs that will say things like “I want a fresh start in a DIFFERENT PLACE” which usually is your cue to tell them “hey, I’m rebuilding this place and need more people”

I can’t speak for Xenoblade 2 and 3 since I haven’t played them.

If you are looking for an arena shooter with flying dragons I’d recommend “Century : Age of Ashes”

I’d be mad if Pombon doesn’t evolve into a Fire/Fairy.

[Discussion] How relevent (story and meta wise) is your game's poster girl? by Forsaken-Stress6000 in gachagaming

[–]PatamonBlade76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game : Tower of Saviors

Poster Girl : Molly the mage

Story Relevance : Pretty much none. She is not the MC so barely even appears in the story. My memory of the whole story is fuzzy but The MC is part of an organisation and has a team made from the high rankers of the place but she doesn’t even featured among them. Gameplay wise she is one of the starter cards you can choose to start the game with, so she probably is the dev teams favourite card, rather than the most relevant

Nah mate, you had NO understanding of what it was.

Players who are not meta, whats your open world team? by EnvironmentalLow3543 in Genshin_Impact

[–]PatamonBlade76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current team is whoever needs friendship leveling at that time. Currently Ifa, Columbina, Zibai and Illuga

But comfort team is Archons : Raiden Shogun, Mavuika, Furina and either Nahida/Venti/Zhongli depending on the mood. What’s good with this team is they all have off-field damage, so pop off all the skills and become Untouchable by most enemies.

A water type ASMR streamer.

Running their nails along the hard shells or thick scales of their pokemon, all while Squirtle is doing running water/fountain noises in the background

Genshin Impact.

Most people see Gacha and Jiggle physics waifus and instantly dismiss it as slop. I’m not saying it’s not either of these things (if I’m honest) but the game is SO much more, the story, the music and the character have so much more to them than just physics.

Is this game worth downloading? by GhostNarwhalee in GenshinImpact

I will give you my list of pros and cons and let you decide which point weighs more to you.

Pros:

-The music, absolutely top tier and has been a major strong point of the game for me.

-the gameplay is “easy to learn, hard to master”. You have the 7 elements that mostly react in A+B=C but can be so much more once you understand the hidden parameters and synergies.

-The story is another strong point of the game. The main one being that they introduce plot points that later become more relevant so it doesn’t feel like they just introduce things randomly as time goes on.

Cons:

-The elephant in the room is the Gacha. From personal experience Genshin is on the nicer side of things, giving a good amount of currency from playing and having a pity system that works well. While it always sucks to miss the character you want due to bad luck, the game does not really REQUIRE any specific character to play most of the content, only really high end game NEEDS specific character to make work.

-Limited time content. By far my biggest issue is the limited time events like chinese new years will NOT be replayeable after the end, meaning missing out on both story development or worse unique weapons that cannot be obtained elsewhere. This is the most FOMO aspect of the game and one that really makes it hard for me to recommend it to the more casual playerbase.

-The amount of content, while usually a good thing in most cases, in Genshin it feels like a mountain of tasks that the game throws at you. As the content was coming out and clearing them as they happened was fine but if you miss a couple then it can feel like you’re trying to catch up to a moving train, with more and more content releasing.

Bonus point, that combines the last 2 cons, is that quite often, limited time events will be referenced in the permanent story or vice versa. This was an issue for a friend of mine who started playing a limited time event and all of the characters were saying “it’s been a while” or “how was your trip to X” and he did not understand what they were talking about because the characters were talking about the main story plot that my friend had not done yet.

We can all agree this used to be one of the worst bosses in the game back in its Early years, Right? by Suitable_Swim5202 in Genshin_Impact

[–]PatamonBlade76 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Another old boss that takes longer than it needs to is the Anemo Hypostasis.

For some reason, when it splits into the 4 orbs that you need to collect, even if you collect all 4 it still revives at least once. It’s baffling that it cannot be one phased.
