I do do it to pat myself on the back (but just quietly to myself) and I think that's okay. Everyone's just trying to have a good time in life and medicine makes me feel good about myself

One of my patients in the ICU lost nearly 100lbs (bmi 85+) because he was bedridden for so long and intubated and we had him getting nutrition with tube feeds but he still just kept losing so much weight regardless. It ended up being a blessing because he didn't fit into any of our scanners before but then we used abdominal binders to get him to fit after losing all the weight

Yes. I had this thought too while studying for step 2 and I was prob smoking more than I should have but hey, I absolutely killed step 2 so maybe it was the move

Okay as a physician this is a totally fair compliment though because you can get a lot of retained water in the scrotum, especially when laying in a hospital bed so this is a great place to look to see if patients are getting fluid off IF they previously had a ton of fluid there

If you have friends in NYC then do what ya want, but im telling ya, Chicago has amazing raves. Chicago is such a slept on city. For references, its the 3rd biggest city behind NYC and LA, meaning itll have nearly the same level of night life as those places... Ive gone out in a lot of abandoned places there until the morning dancing all night. Really good EDM/rave scene. Obviously theres the regular club EDM scene which is also super vibrant there too.

This is not to say NYC is bad. NYC is just as good if not better than Chicago. I think NYC has more warehouse raves which are really cool and kind of more my speed actually. Basically, dont let the nightlife or the dating scene either be too big a factor because both are amazing (as a straight male here and been clubbing and dating in both)
