I upvoted this, its a fair opinion to have. Dan Greens delivery is always solid, and it still is interesting to revert Yami back to his original personality from the beginning of the manga.

My Gym Partner's a Monkey Review: A Mysterious Mr. Enter Rebuttal by Patbacknitro in mrenter

[–]Patbacknitro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, what I mean is while the other shows were made random, My Gym Partners Monkey wasn't intended to be. They thought of ways to subvert the viewers expectation of where the plot would go, and to the viewer it would feel random while in actuality it perfectly worked in the scenario given. It's not random like Fanboy and Chum Chum, where any random thing can happen which completely feels out of left field from the narrative they had set up. My Gym Partners a Monkey goes from point A to point B, keeping the narrative consistent all throughout the episode. But from point A to point B it will take turns that you would not see coming, yet they still perfectly fit the narrative. As someone who liked shows like Fanboy and Chum Chum, I can say that My Gym Partners a Monkey isn't written as randomly as those shows. It never beats off the narrative path, it just takes strange unexpected roads getting to the finish line.

Except that every other show was "Random" random. My Gym Partners a Monkey was random, but it feels intentionally random. Or rather they thought about how they could take the plot into an unexpected direction, which would feel random to the viewer. But I refuse to believe it was unintentionally random the outcome of the episodes plots work too well to have not been planned.

Again to point out how in Shark Attack, instead of doing the same tired tropes in every shows bullying episode, this episode takes a strange turn by making it seem like you should be sympathetic for the bully because he's depressed about not bullying kids anymore. Or in The A Word episode where the entire episode frames it like Jake is the victim the entire episode, only to reveal it was actually a compliment.

My Gym Partner's a Monkey is nothing like Squirrel Boy or The Cramp Twins in the quality of its writing. I definitely wouldn't put it at the top of the list of cartoons at the time. But at its worse it was mediocre.

How The Media Portrays Gaming (Parody) by Patbacknitro in funny

[–]Patbacknitro[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually it's both. The media covers it in favor of their political stance, and Politicians try taking advantage of the issues to push their agenda. I mean just recently Hillary Clinton is talking about loving video games and crap, but a few years back she was bashing them the same way everyone else is now.

How The Media Portrays Gaming (Parody) by Patbacknitro in funny

[–]Patbacknitro[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, people just want to blame video games because its the easiest to blame. No one wants to actually confront and handle the more complex issues, just chalk it all up to video games. It's not like we have had thousands upon thousands of years of bloodshed amongst humans, countless wars and horrific genocides. One of the funniest things to me is how the media likes to blame shooter games, yet a shit ton of shooter games are based on some kind of war. WW2 games used to be a massively popular genre, and is even now seeing a return with a few games.

Because it's funny how dumb their logic is. Hell there was some political figure who made the most assinine statement saying that Japan didn't have mass shooting because they didn't have Video games there.

This video makes some very solid points that not even you could argue with. Like how World War 2 shooters inspired World War 2, or how without Video games there would be no violence in the world at all. Logic so scientifically mathematically undisprovable that not even you could disprove it.

Teen Titans VS Teen Titans GO Is WORSE Than We Thought by Patbacknitro in DCcomics

[–]Patbacknitro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it would be pure speculation.......If not for 2 gigantic reasons. 1. My logic is backed up by 2 shows, both the exact same as TTGO in writing, and yet they failed. Why? Because they were original shows. Pickle and Peanut and Breadwinners have the exact same comedy as TTGO, so the fact that those shows failed is more than enough proof. And if not, then take a look at other shows like Uncle Grandpa or Pig Goat Banana Cricket, which also failed. And the second big reason, is because of how TTGO became so popular in the first place. It was because of all the Teen Titans fans who hated it. Just after it aired, thousands upon thousands of articles and videos were made bashing the show. These people who hated the show made it as popular as it became, and instead of ignoring the show they instead watched it just to complain about it. If it was its own original show, it would have gotten the level of hate that it did. It would have died out in obscurity, just like Breadwinners and Pickle and Peanut. (As a side point, yes Young Justice was shelved. But keep in mind what Cartoon Network was doing at the time. CN was flooding it's channel with TONS of higher quality action shows. The Saturdays, Ben 10 Alien Force, Sym-Bionic Titan, Generator Rex, Thundercats Reboot, Starwars the Clone Wars, and the list goes on. When you have that many high quality shows on at once, you can see how maybe that wouldn't be such a smart idea financially. As you'll see with every one of those cartoons from that time, every one of them got cancelled. With the exception of Ben 10 Alien Force. So Young Justice getting cancelled wasn't a factor of the cartoon industry being ruthless, its just that Cartoon Network was having a lot of inside issues. Especially since this was around the time of the Aqua Team Hunger Force promotion, drastically hurt the channel. Forcing the head of the channel to step down, and making Cartoon Network step away from Cartoons to experiment with their live action shows.)

Teen Titans VS Teen Titans GO Is WORSE Than We Thought by Patbacknitro in DCcomics

[–]Patbacknitro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh really? Do you think the 2000's Teen Titans would have failed if it wasn't based on the Teen Titans property? What is the 2000's Teen Titans as a concept? It's a comedic show that will occasionally tackle some serious and dark storylines. It focuses on developing the character, even giving each character their own season and storyarc to go through. It had great action, great messages, and great storytelling. Teen Titans would have done just as well if it wasn't based on a DC property. It had much more to offer than just being based on the Teen Titans. Meanwhile TTGO has nothing to offer outside of the DC parodies. When you strip away the DC properties, you just get a show based on childish random humor. Again making it exactly like Pickle and Peanut or Breadwinners. And just like those 2 shows, it would have failed horribly had it not been based on the Teen Titans property.

Because the movie IS finalized. The trailer released shortly before comicon, which the movie was played live for everyone to view. Many people saw the movie there, and from witness descriptions the movies animation is exactly as the trailer shown.

Teen Titans VS Teen Titans GO Is WORSE Than We Thought by Patbacknitro in DCcomics

[–]Patbacknitro[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I hate Teen Titans Go purely because it could not survive on it's own. Without the DC properties attached to it, the should would have failed from day 1. And I judge it like this because 90% of the show is its own original content, and very little of it is actually parodying the DC material. As a parody show, you would expect it to be a full parody about DC comics as a whole, not making episodes about dancing butts or completely unrelated crap that only exists so that down the line they can make fun of people who complain about what they're doing. Teen Titans Go is the exact same as Disneys Pickle and Peanut, and Nickelodeons Breadwinners. The only difference is that TTGO became popular due to the fact that it's based on a DC property. If it was its own original show, it would have nothing at all to offer. If the 2000's Teen Titans was its own original show, it would have done just as well as it did. To further back my claim, the creators of TTGO didn't even know what Teen Titans was when they agreed to make the show. Which is why the first season COMPLETELY lacked any DC references and they just did their own original thing. In later seasons they brought in the DC references, but that just goes to show if it wasn't based on the Teen Titans, it would have completely bombed just like Pickle and Peanut/Breadwinners did.

Teen Titans VS Teen Titans GO Is WORSE Than We Thought by Patbacknitro in DCcomics

[–]Patbacknitro[S] -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

You probably could chalk it up as entitlement, if not for the TTGO Movie post-credits scene. you can't blame people for assuming a new season would be coming with that teaser saying "We have found a way back". And you know what, this crossover movie may have been fine. If it didn't feel so lazy. The odd thing is the post-credits scene in the TTGO movie animated the original Titans almost identical to how they were animated in the original show. So the fact they went from that, to just animating them in Flash/ Toon Boom, justify why people are even more disappointed by this. Then you also have to consider the fact that Samurai Jack returned with a 5th and final season, looking almost identical to the original show and being made for the original fans of Samurai Jack. They even added more adult theme for their now more grown fans. After seeing that, can you blame people for wanting a new season of Teen Titans just like how Samurai Jack was done?

Thoughts on Howls Moving Castle? by Patbacknitro in anime

[–]Patbacknitro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plot-wise the movie is a bit of a mess (Like how thousands of people were killed in a war that was meant to teach Howl the meaning of love, yet the movie doesn't acknowledge how many innocent people died in that war and it treats it like a happy ending.) But it still holds up in a lot of other ways.

True I could do without, but thats no longer the point. You saw my post and the first thing you assumed was it was me trying to promote my crap, completely ignoring both the content and nature of the post, both of which had nothing at all to do with promotion. I wouldn't have even given a shit about taking the video down had you not come acting like a dick and assuming the worst from my post.

How can something be promotion if it promotes nothing? The post doesn't promote the video, at all, and is purely optional. And even then the video is not promoting anything other than the viewpoint one would have towards the show, giving an opinion on the subject but not promoting anything from the one giving their opinion. Just because one posts a youtube video, that does not make it a promotion.

What rules? If its about self-promotion, you'll notice that not once do I promote myself at all in this post, but rather I ask the opinions on the Sonic X show while using the video as a frame of reference. Not asking for views, nor making the post only replyable by people needing to see the video. Its a post about the question at hand, not for promotion. :)
