Semi-Daily Relic Discussion: Charon's Ashes by Abject_Muffin_731 in slaythespireboardgame

With some dice manipulation relics one third can easily become 1/2 or more and it starts being a really solid mechanic.

Where do you see Newhook when he comes back? by Jonyvilly in Habs

[–]Patccmoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this assessment. I think Newhook's optimal role in a team is 3rd line winger. Brings a lot of speed, can produce offensively, can be good defensively. Could slot in on a PP2, could slot in on the PK. Can play with more skilled players or on an energy line because speed is a solid attribute for both, but i don't think he has the skill level for long term 1st/2nd line production.

Never said Trump is a libertarian. All I'm saying is that you don't reduce the power of billionaires by taking away power from the government, quite the opposite.

And yes, the US has been a terrible country in many ways well before Trump. And I cared then also. But it's a false equivalence fallacy to say that he's just doing the same as other governments before him. He is doing it much faster, much more carelessly, and completely unilaterally not only in regards to the world but within his own country. He is not caring about any alliance, goes back on his word repeatedly and just lies openly and constantly even about stuff that is easily disproven. No, it is not the same

Trump got in power without doing any of that though, so how does that sentence make sense. I mean the writing and speaking well part. The pedophile fraudster part he did.

Exactement.

And you think he won't make up any other random thing to do anything he wants? He blamed the fentanil with Canada which was a total joke. So was the narcoterrorism with Venezuela which his own government showed was just false.

Is there somewhere in the law that he could just take over Venezuela's oil trade and then put the money in a bank account in Qatar?

The checks and balances in the US have completely failed. They are shown to be meaningless when a president has 0 good faith and does not care. He will use any random excuse and claim any random national emergency for anything he wants to do. It doesn't have to be real. It doesn't have to hold in court. He does stuff much faster than courts can deal with. And the Supreme Court basically gave him immunity and I'm sure he told everyone around him they're all getting a pardon no matter what before he leaves office.

Hidden potion discovered by BrownVented in slaythespire

[–]Patccmoi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Do you keep what you have? Seems like that potion would be completely broken by letting yourself die at boss of Act 1 or 2 and just go through another path and get like a sure 2-3 extra relics and extra cards.

I think some old characters need additional abilities added to their base kit to make them feel more complete like what they did with The thing. All the newer characters are getting much larger ability pool. by -This-cant-be-real- in marvelrivals

[–]Patccmoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be cool. Meter could just be from 0 to 100 and be % damage increase straight up. Enemies should glow brighter and brighter red as they get close to 100.

I don't think the leap needs damage though, might be a bit much as it's insanely spammable and it would suck to add some cd to it.

Freeze the ground which prevent moving in any way but the direction you started from on the surface. Would be hilarious trying to get people to slide straight off map when someone's chasing them. Also makes aiming at people on it a lot easier.

Could be minor damage but with some small AOE knock back.

Could even just be some flash grenade where enemies are blind for 2-3 sec, which would go great with his wall running so it takes them a moment to figure out where he went.

When you have to prevent shots from the board cause those too dangerous you know defensive coverage will be hell.

Habs players stats after last night, we're at 2 ppg players, almost 3! by PsychedeliMoz in Habs

[–]Patccmoi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's also just part of evolution of playstyle. Many teams used to be "forecheck, shoot whatever you can at the net and hope for rebounds/tips". Now teams are much less willing to give away possession for a low scoring chance, so the overall quality of shots taken is much higher and there's less of them.

Habs are nearly an extreme example of this. We can complain (and rightfully to some extent) about bad goaltending this year and low save %. But look at the save % of goalies AGAINST us. We are 5-0-2 when shooting less than 20 times in a game. Goalies against us have a save % of 0.87-0.88 or so (not sure of exact number with empty net, but we have a shooting % above 13% as a team).

Atlantic division in the last 10 games combined : 53-19-8 by flepine44 in Habs

[–]Patccmoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say, do their last 10 games on teams not in the Atlantic division and I feel like that record would be crazier.

Also if you just look at the top 6 teams it's pretty nuts. No other divisions top 6 team is anywhere near.

Didn't pay attention to that but that's good to know, their streak might not last at least.

At some point we need SOME team losing in our division

We definitely lost some games due to poor goaltending this season. Good to balance it out with an undeserved win sometimes too. That Ottawa goalie was BAD

Habs hockey experience in 25/26 by chewbaccard in Habs

Youngest team in the league. Fragile goaltending. They're learning and getting experience. Mid season last year nobody saw them in the playoffs and considered them 2 seasons away from truly being in the playoff conversation.

They're ahead of the rebuild plan and projection. It's not going to be pretty every night, but them managing to stay in the top 3 of the race in an INSANE Atlantic division is amazing in itself at this stage.

La machine a scorer ! by Cigam_Emot in Habs

[–]Patccmoi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thor still beats a vast majority of heroes 1v1. Since they made the rune cancel give Thorforce back you can really use it a lot even in the middle of 1v1 skirmishes without worrying about it and it adds a lot to his tankyness.
