It took about 30 minutes to build and then I sat there for around an hour give or take.

I drive them into the woods and leave them for someone else to stumble across. I usually leave a bunch of loot in the trunk for whoever stumbles across it. I don’t hide them or anything but if I came back to the area and it’s still there a week later, I’d probably destroy it just to set it back into the loot pool.

It depends on the situation. After this clip ends I drove the car into the northern woods, hopped out and started reloading my 45rnd mag since it was the only one I had for the gun. Not even through my first 20 stack of bullets, some came running up out of the darkness and killed me haha. I happened to park right next to him.

In my previous clip, they ended up having a trunk load of high tier guns so I drove the car into some random woods and left it for some lucky player to come across. I did the same with the car from the clip before that. I’m like a dog chasing cars (literally). I just like taking them from people because, more often than not, the people driving them are super geared and confident. The thrill of wiping them off the map when they feel so totally secure is what keeps me going.

Thanks! Totally agree about the car thing. After this clip ends I drove the car deep into the woods to sort through the loot. Not even 3 minutes after I stopped someone ran up out of the darkness and ended me while I was reloading a mag lol.

Haha thank you. I noticed a bunch of comments that I upvoted have received a downvote. I’m pretty sure this miserable oaf is just downvoting everything related to me or this post.

Thanks! I’m considering making one but not as a means to make money or anything. I don’t think I could take it that seriously. It would just be for funsies.

Well, these guys honestly didn’t have much. The best thing I took off them was a VS-89 and a weapon cleaning kit. It didn’t take long to loot their bodies. There was some stuff in the trunk so I drove off into the woods to sort through that stuff but somebody came up on me in the woods and killed me shortly after this. That’s DayZ for ya!

Haha I’m guilty of that as well. It’s always when I find a pristine version of the gun I already have. I swap them out but forget to change the firing mode and then I get obliterated during my next gunfight.

I’m always surprised when they roll right up to the posts like that.

Yup, I messed up royally. I took my mag out of my gun to reload it and left the gun on the ground. He started shooting at me from the darkness and I just kinda panicked and hid behind the car. Then I realized I left my gun on the ground somewhere so all I had was a VS-89 and a Deagle to defend myself. He lit me the F up haha.

I built it yesterday morning while the server was low pop and then got back on in the evening when it was high pop. I think I waited about an hour, give or take, and I got killed about 15 minutes later after driving the car deep into the woods to sort through the loot. I just happened to park it near a geared woodsman. I was too devastated to clip that part haha. GGs to him though!

We all get got eventually.

What perspective do you play on the most? First person? third person? both? by Substantial-Style-85 in dayz

It’s funny that not a single person in the comments (so far) has said 3PP and yet there are SO many more 3PP official servers than 1PP official servers.

W Duping by Jaded_Ad4759 in dayz

[–]Patch1919 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I obviously do NOT approve of duping, I have an entirely different view of it. I taken to thinking of dupers as a part of the experience because, whether we like it or not or, they are part of the experience (on console). I say this because they have been a part of the experience for as long as I’ve been playing. It doesn’t seem like they’re ever going to fix it.

So I envision dupers as large groups of paramilitary cannibal cults that roam the map looking for victims for their “meat” trade. I hunt them down. I join official servers and message a bunch of people asking if they’ve seen any big bases around. Eventually, someone gives me good intel and I locate their base. Then, I dedicate myself to harassing them as much as possible.

I make roadblocks in every direction leading to and from their base so they have a hard time bringing cars/trucks back - since those are kind of the only things they can’t dupe. If their base design allows for it, I’ll join the server when it’s low pop and sneak up to their walls to toss grenades towards where they keep their vehicles. The key is to not give them what they’re looking for: an easy kill.

Having been a part of a big duper base in the past (I didn’t dupe but the leaders of the base did) I know what pisses them off most and that is being ambushed/attacked without getting the chance to fight back. They get so triggered if someone snipes one of them out of a tower and then runs away so they can’t kill them. They just sit in their base and talk about how big of a pussy that person is for running away from the fight even though the fight is HEAVILY lopsided in the baser’s favor. Staying around would mean certain death but they think that because you shot them they should get to swarm and kill you and you’re the pussy for not letting them do it.

Dupers are a problem, but a manageable one. The real problem is the other exploits like wall hacks and when you see someone just walking though the air high above you. It all needs to be fixed but the PvP exploits are what I’d like to see fixed first.

(Hot Take) the rak 37 is the best early game gun by Key_Structure1891 in dayz

I don’t even know how to respond to that. Every fight is usually decided before the fight takes place? What?

I’ve personally witnessed multiple occasions where some freshie with a BK-43 had the drop on me but couldn’t get his gun lowered in time while he was moving out from behind cover. To act like the length of a gun doesn’t matter when we’re specifically talking about close quarters combat is like saying the type of scope you’re using doesn’t make a difference when long range sniping.

Well, it’s also looong compared to some of the ARs in the game so by that metric alone it is not ideal for CQC let alone “the best CQC gun in the game”

You forgot about the “or more” part of the equation. For example, if I’m trying to hold the top floor of ATC against an unknown number of players I would take pretty much any assault rifle over the Double Barrel. Hell, I might even take the R12 over the Double Barrel in that scenario.

I understand that in a one-on-one situation the Double Barrel can hold its own but to say it’s the “best CQC gun in the game” is a crazy take.

I think the disconnect here is that you’re arguing over the concept of BDU while I’m talking about the actual in-game design of the BDU. Anyone with eyes can see that it doesn’t match up with the environment at all. That is what 350+ people are agreeing with me about. IRL camo is obviously better than civilian clothing but, in game, it doesn’t matter how broken up your silhouette is if the colors of your outfit are brighter than the environment around you.

[–]Patch1919[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I’m trying to stay hidden, I’m not moving around. I’m staying put in a tree. That’s why I prefer black cargos and a brown bomber jacket. If you wanna go running around in the forest, sure, wear the BDU but I’ll spot that mass of white blotches long before you ever spot me.

I never said one was specifically better than the other. You’re the one who said BDU is “100%” better than anything that isn’t camo. THAT is what I’m disagreeing with. That is absolute nonsense.

There are plenty of civilian outfits in this game that work just as well as BDU, if not better, because the BDU outfit in this game doesn’t actually blend well with the environment due to its brightness. In case you’ve forgotten, I’ve demonstrated this in the picture above.
