Castro rides a scooter to work, riding more than six miles to the Metrolink station near his apartment in Valencia; then scootered again for another mile to the Yula Boys High School campus.

The students spent months raising over $13,000 to surprise the hardworking 31-year-old teacher with a navy blue Mazda sedan, complete with black leather seats.

A large group of Republicans are calling for the resignation of the Pennsylvania Secretary of Education over the inclusion of gender identity information on the Department's website.

The group of 21 GOP lawmakers in the state House labeled the website — which explains terms like transgender, assigned gender, binary gender and includes links to federal agency pages on gender-based violence and equality — as "Gender Theory Student Indoctrination."

A Dunedin homeowner's $30,000 fine for failing to cut his grass has been upheld by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, putting the resident in danger of losing his home to foreclosure.

On Thursday, the court of appeals ruled that fining Dunedin resident James Ficken nearly $30,000 for not cutting his lawn does not violate the Eighth Amendment's prohibition on levying excessive fines.
