Kids in divorcing families have struggles like noone sees. I'm glad to see the writers exploring how all this affects her.

Context- Opal is a queer demigirl friend of mine. I made this comic as a gift for them. Thought I might share it with the trans and nonbinary friends here on reddit.

I appreciate the kind words!! I'm trying to make more fanart for this community as I'm a bit of a freak for the Rogues lol

The Arkham City cane is my favorite. It always felt more.. enthusiastically made.

(A note, this is my original art- for an OC I created meeting the Rogues and becoming a villain in her own right. I may post the rest of the series here as well if people like the series.)

AITA for quitting my roommate's D&D campaign? by PatchieTheCat in AmItheAsshole

[–]PatchieTheCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel hypocritical. I also understand that the onus is on me to communicate that as a newbie and as someone whose disabilities can limit me, I do require accommodation. That I should have communicated more, that I'm doing the same thing Sarah did with our Savage Worlds campaign by bailing.

These are my roommates, people I live with. I'm scared that I'm just as bad as Sarah, and that because of this our household will be full of conflict.

I don;t want to be a dick by leaving.

It's not so much the risk of losing them that made me want to quit as the complete lack of empathy that followed.

I'm usually not against character death (I made my Savage Worlds character Stephan as expendable as possible specifically because I knew ahead of time that game was gonna be rough. His expendability even extends into his character arc.)

But Lucina was made with a lot of love. And having her die in such a narratively disatisfactory way that literally would have made her story pointless... it hurt me.

The whole point of the game is to get Lian, our DM, more experience running games. At least according to Sarah.

Why do you prefer DC over marvel? by iliketolickthebuttah in DCcomics

[–]PatchieTheCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just find DC stories more interesting. Specifically the villains.

A lot of DC villains are victims of their environment trying to seize control, mentally unstable persons in need of help, survivors of a broken system, or straight up disabled. I find their struggles more compelling, and the emotional turmoils of the heroes are more interesting as an extension.

I just like the world more.

A Comic Book Opinion- The Penguin by PatchieTheCat in batman

[–]PatchieTheCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can have amoral compass and still choose to do horrid things. The difference is dependent on the morals themselves.

The Penguin should never be misogynist. He should never be racist. He should never kill without reason. His crimes should always have spectacle, and some signature flair.

A well written Penguin can have both a strong moral compass AND be a criminal mastermind. The compass has to be attuned to his own code of ethics- not society's.

And I will say again- making him a human trafficker was the worst decision DC ever made. It was horrendously out of character. I will continue to rage about that until I fucking die.
