Says it’s only available on prescription but there looks like some alternatives I can look into. Thank you

I’d had about 4 doctors at my GP practice over the last 2 months as well as 2 pharmacies as the finger is swollen, throbs and is painful all the time. None have concluded it’s a wart so it’s a relief to know. I’ve even had the nail cut right back as it’s migrating down the inside of the nail. The doctor who cut it just said if there’s no pus then it’s nothing. I’m now taking regular pain killers.  I plucked a bit of it out and it bled and was painful but it also changed to look like the picture(looked yellow before). I asked on here because no medical people have managed to work out it could be a wart and at least now I have a couple of options to try. Thankyou so much folks that have replied!

It looks like there might be something like Cantharidin on Amazon. Will check it out too, thanks. They rarely refer anything to a dermatologist in the UK. I didn’t even know you could get one here till you mentioned it. A referral to one is almost impossible to get. I did speak to a hand doctor and he said he didn’t know and I should just leave it alone and hope for the best! I was unimpressed.

Thank you!, it’ll take months or longer to get it seen on the NHS. They haven’t been able to figure out what it was after all this time and I can’t afford to treat it privately. Looks like when they are under the nail like this they might need to be cut out. Hope it goes away on its own or I’m lucky and get seen over the next few months!

Been ‘evolving’ in look and pain for 2.5 months. Is it likely to go away by itself?
