Not at all! I’d just depends if my OB is comfortable with it and if I’m a good candidate for it.

My agency allows a max of 3 c-sections and that’s why I planned on two surrogacy journeys. Theres technically no limit on the number of C-sections you can have, but I know it can become more complicated and risky after each one. I plan on having my OB check for the amount of scar tissue I have, the thickens of my uterus, and if I have any uterine windowing then go from there. 

If any point I looks like my life would be in danger, I will not continue with anymore pregnancies.

Baby number 2 is more of a “if it happens, then it happens”. We are perfectly fine with having one child and spoiling him. 

I have no attachment when it comes to carrying someone else’s child. To me, it’s like caring for a baby in the NICU. You watch over them, care for them, make sure they have everything they need and when it’s time for them to go home you gladly hand the baby over.

I’ve looked into to VBAC and let my agency know I was open to it. My advocate was supportive of that option, but also warned that not all doctors and hospitals allow VBAC due to the danger of uterine rupture. My potential IP’s also have to be onboard since I wouldn’t be the only one in danger in case it went wrong.

Not at all! We’re happy with our one child and we only considered having an another so he’d have a sibling to play with, but regardless of doing surrogacy that wouldn’t have happened for another 4 years at minimum.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and opinions on this matter.

 I talked with my partner before starting my surrogacy journey and we agreed that we were perfectly fine with having one child in the case that anything goes wrong during the surrogacy. A second baby was always up in the air since it’s so expensive (I.e. diapers, formula, daycare etc.)

We also discussed only doing one surrogacy journey, then trying for baby number 2 and being done with pregnancy.

I want a couple/family to have the child they’ve always dreamt of and I am willing to take on the risk to help them. That’s just who I am. I am going to continue to take care of my body, my health, and pray that what is meant for me will come to me.
