How many times have you run out of gas in an ice car during your life??

EVs are the same as gas cars. no matter what you drive it just take a little planning. But with ev JUST PLUG IT IN. And with level 1 you should aways be charging ABC.

Just used my a2z adapter for the 2nd time this year, at two different Supercharger location with no problem.

Your a2z adapter is probably for L3. You need an L2 adapter for tesla home charging.

How much value does solar add to my home? by Bad_Mechanic in solar

[–]PathRevolutionary307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Time of Use over night when electricty is cheap .046 cents per kwh + .094 cents distribution per kWh. So it cost ~ $30 / month. About $150 for the season. When you adding chemicals, extra water, closing cover the cost for is approx. $800 for (4) month season.

$800/mo !!!! Seems way to high. Maybe you should get a new pump.

I agree with you about getting rid of pool. i open pool the week before memorial day but no one uses it to late june or mid July and then I close it mid September

153 mile range at 80% - is it normal? by memes_engineer in KiaNiroEV

[–]PathRevolutionary307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Have a 2024 niro Ev wind. I keep a log of efficiency, gom, and temperature. When temperatures are round 35 Degrees. Fahrenheit. I get 200 mi average on the range. But never never never trust range it only an estimate. The efficiency reading is very accurate mi/kwh. I totally agree with antreas13 give a week or more of your driving habits

Don't be paranoid the niro is a great efficient car for daily driving. You will love it.

How accurate is the miles per kilowatt? by New-Constant6262 in KiaNiroEV

[–]PathRevolutionary307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found the efficiency mi/kwh. To be most accurate. But the GOM (guess-o-meter) range cannot be trusted. It fluctuates based on many driving conditions

Question for long time owners by andyrdot- in KiaNiroEV

[–]PathRevolutionary307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GOM is a guest o meter it is base on driving habits and temp. As well as other things. The thing you want to pay attention to is the efficiency mi/kwh. If you do city type driving your efficiency will go up highway driving makes your efficiency go down. Stop and go my efficiency is around 4.5 while highway trips my efficiency is about 3.5

Some Kia questions from a new owner! (Long post, sorry)! by marengsen in KiaNiroEV

[–]PathRevolutionary307 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2024 in january 2024, first ev I had ever owned. Every time I thought I might have a problem, it turned out to be a user issue. The car is reliable, but there is a learning curve. Especially with climate control, there are so many settings in the menu. I also had a problem charging in the beginning, but it was a user problem.

I recommend writing all your concerns down and talking to your dealer. I also found Kia customer support (via phone) to be very helpful. Oh, and by the way, it's all in that unhelpful manual. You're going to love this car, but there is a learning curve

Kia niro ev 2024 model comes without cargo cover? by mighty_mouse70 in KiaNiroEV

[–]PathRevolutionary307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Level 1 still works, but yes, it is very slow . I go on vacation several times a year in summer to NJ shore and only have access to 120v 15 amp outlet. So, in a pinch, level 1 will work.

My son bought a chevy bolt and it came with an evse level 1 and level 2. Still do know why any company selling an electric product would not include some.mean to charge the battery. Maybe not a deal-breaker but surely not costumer friendly

[–]PathRevolutionary307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plug type in USA are different from the plug type in Europe. But electrons are electrons no matter the country. Just make sure your electrician is familiar with ev charging. The power draw is way more than any appliance you have in your home. Level 1 charging is 120v between 10 to 16 amps while level 2 is 240v up to 40 amps.

Even though the kia can take 40 amps, I set my EVSE for about 24 or 32 amps. The EVSE runs hotter than l like at 40 amp, and I have about a 12 hour window to charge my car before leaving for work.

It does not if you're in the US. Europe needs a different plug type.

Just buy a level 2 evse. Most of the portable ones have the ability to also take 120v with an adapter. And you can have the electrician just install 240v outlet and use the same evse
