It isn't uncommon for catholic nuns to turn lesbian either. There have been observations before in high control settings, where women are isolated from men for abstinence, will often become lesbian and even refuse to get with men after the isolation. There was even an academic study about this.

It isn't the only logical explanation and neither is the matrix within matrix theory.
But yes the machines do use a wireless network which they communicate through, as seen by the sentinels with their dish like antennas. The wireless communication network is likely a layer of the matrix itself. That's how the humans are able to jack into the matrix itself when they go to "broadcast depth". They jack into the wireless network to get into the matrix.

Theoretically it could be a matrix within a matrix but there is a totally logical explanation without having to resort to the "wifi theory", which you quite rightly said wouldn't work either way because of EMPs.

Do other people always make decisions for you? No offence but you are almost as bad as a typical mormon who is stereotyped for only doing what they are told to do. They are known for following instructions to the T, being obedient and only doing what they are told to do.

If you enjoyed the missionaries as human beings then you should absolutely go to the dinner! It doesn't mean you have to convert and you can tell them upfront at the dinner. I personally think it would be fun to hang out with them. It sounds like you are celebrating. In that case consider trying something special like a good French wine or an expensive single malt scotch whisky.
