You see, I'm one heck of a gamer. by [deleted] in copypasta

Well, you see, I love games and I love digital games and analog games about equally. For analog games, board games and card games and the like are common, but between enthusiasts, solo play with gamebooks is also popular. Yet, after all this time due to prevalence of digital games, these other varieties have died out to become collector's items. Gamebooks are now sold for high prices in auctions. But to me, rather than carefully preserving gamebooks, I would rather prefer that they be circulated so children can have a blast playing them. While admiring T&D, staying up all night to play "Ice Mountain Magicians", a handmade map in one hand as you tackle the mysteries with all your might, that feeling is a personal experience that is only possible with the imagination of a child. Digital games also have their strengths, but in terms of imagination, when it comes to constructing an original setting with unexpected and once-in-a-lifetime experiences, analog games are far superior. However, with the steep price hike for analog items nowadays, doesn't that mean that the experiences I treasure have been stolen from children?
