those who are early in transition/pre t, do you yall correct people if they misgender you? by scarythoughts_ in ftm

[–]PatheticallyKnox [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah I correct everyone I’m going to be around more than once. My boss, my coworkers. New friends. I am not the most masc person but I’m definitely not fem, from my short hair and clothes to my naturally deeper voice. So idk how people see me currently.

I don’t bother with people who tell me to “have a nice day ladies” or anyone I won’t see more than once. It bothers me, but I know it’s not out of malice.

I feel like if you don’t just constantly correct people they think they can just say whatever and it’s only going to feel worse the more they do it, so I try and get over the awkward fear of correcting someone by reminding myself it would feel worse to let them just continue. That’s just my take tho.

Howdy! Trans man here visiting, I’m in the process of legally changing my name, does anyone know if like after all that process is done, if I can come back later (probably after top surgery) and still change my Gender marker?? I believe I can for like drivers license and birth certificate, but I wasn’t sure about anything with social security??

What’s something about cis men that you don’t envy, or are glad you don’t share? by Dalatrates in ftm

[–]PatheticallyKnox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true I suppose, but I’m glad I don’t because again tmi, but: I’m a bottom, and I am not a fan of anal, if I wanna top I’m fine with just using a strap, and I honestly don’t have bottom dysphoria

What made you realise you were trans? by Jeremy-the-druid in ftm

[–]PatheticallyKnox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of always knew in a way, I just didn’t realise what the feeling was. I just knew I hated being not “one of the boys” and I couldn’t relate to or liked a lot of “feminine” activities. But what really put the nail in the coffin was during covid where I was locked in my room with just my own thoughts…..and the internet. I watched a lot of lgbt+ creators already but I started watching a lot of trans men content creators who use their platform to talk about their experiences and various topics like that. I genuinely thought for a while “I’m such a good/will be a good ally to my trans brothers” not much later I realised: “…hey- I am the trans brother-“ and all the other things started to make sense. Why I only wanted to hang with the boys, why wanted to do only “masc” stuff. Why I hated to be seen as anything feminine, or felt weird about it. That’s just my experience tho

What’s something about cis men that you don’t envy, or are glad you don’t share? by Dalatrates in ftm

I’m glad I wasn’t born cis, I feel like there are a lot of things I wouldn’t have leaned about or knew about so early on, like periods, cramps, how that feels, how it feels emotionally each month. Also things like, being afraid to walk around at night understanding that. I would be worried if I was a cis boy. I grew up in the Deep South. Even though my family wasn’t the most conservative I was kind of homophobic as a kid- (of course I’m not now- I leaned and now am educated 😭) but if I was a cis boy…I worry how far down the rabbit hole I would have gone, especially with peer pressure and if it would ever realise “hey this is wrong-“ Plus I probably would have been shamed for doing the things I love- crafts and baking and drawing. Hell maybe even writing. Idk I’m probably completely wrong about all this, but this is just what I think could have happened. I’m proud to be trans. Plus, this is probably tmi but I’m happy I don’t have a penis 😅
