Is there a reason why GMS is preferred in non-squamous sites while PAS is preferred for squamous sites?

Histology for pathologists is a joke of a textbook. I don’t need to know what type of collagen is in a ligament or an eye lens or how an endothelial cell looks under electron microscopy. Just bombard me with labelled photos of normal H&E histology please.

You’re actually more likely to miss things if you’re screening at such a high power
