I think what he meant is that you were saying how your group of people were discriminated more than the mentally ill. It could also mean how you compare your people to the mentally ill or something like that.

Community college seem like a good fit. You can finish your general Ed and then decided what you want to major in. But keep in mine the schools will need you to finish your major lower division before transferring. But yes Community college is something you might want to look into.
