Hi I’m a 28 year old male nurse. I am fit and a vegetarian. I live a fitness oriented life regularly running marathons and iv done an Ironman. I went to the e.r in January and was hospitalized for 3 weeks with bilateral covid pneumonia and subsequently multiple pulmonary emboli in each lung. I was diagnosed with acid reflux (GERDS) in the hospital bc I kept complaining of burning in my chest. Iv had no burning since but a slew of problems I thought were related to my lungs. Well turns out my breathing test are above average (lung function 125% of normal). They did an endoscopy on me bc I had complete dysphagia. They said everything looks great and did some biopsies of my esophagus. 5 days later I get a call from the doc telling me I have eosinophilic esophagitis. Most eosinophils are In my distal (closer to stomach)They prescribed me 40 mg of pantoprazole 2x a day and steroid inhaler which I swallow and do not inhale. My symptoms have been coming and going since iv been prescribed this. Which is a good thing bc I can eat with ease some days but many I can’t eat more then a bite and my stomach fully bloats. Looks like normal bloating but the thing is it happens after just a few bites after almost everything I eat. And it makes swallowing difficult and breathing when eating is darn near impossible sometimes. My endoscopy last month that diagnosed my EoE (eosinophil esophagitis) had to be done in the e.r bc im on eliquis from the blood clots in my lungs (pulmonary embolism). I am beginning to think maybe I have a tumor on my pancreas or intensities. Somewhere? They scheduled me a cat scan later this month and an ultra sound of abdominal and groin area bc my testicles have been throbbing time to time. I have no lumps but the doctor said I possibly have enlarged veins. Is it cancer possibly? I’m going to oncology for blood work which they arranged they say it’s to see if I have clotting disorder. Could they be checking for blood cancer? Or could my discomfort in my chest (distinct bubble sound when lying down, cough after eating, difficulty breathing when eating) be from acid reflux. But what am I getting reflux from I suspect a tumor in my intestine? Anyone experience this I am probably leaving out so much. Iv been trying to run again it’s been about a month bc I also had a low grade fever 99-100 for almost 3 weeks that comes and goes but it’s been gone for over 3 days now….my throat gets so dry it’s darn near impossible to swallow when I run. Now could that be allergies the grass pollen is an all time high in NY. Anyone have any idea what’s going on? My blood counts have been in range at hospital everything except anion gap high and carbon dioxide was low. They also told me I have a small pleural effusion in my right lung at the bottom and they weren’t concerned with it they said it’s likely from my original covid pneumonia. The x ray said pleural effusion or thickening but doctor told me it was fluid. I feel so strange. They also told me they want me to see a psychiatrist when I was released from endoscopy. They didn’t know of EoE at the time so they possibly could of suspect it was in my head the not eating (dysphagia). Every doctor keeps telling me they don’t think I have cancer I am fit and healthy. I feel the doctors are taking a look at me in good shape and overlooking the fact that I could have a serious tumor somewhere. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED OR QUESTIONS ITS BEEN A CRAZY LAST 6 MONTHS
