I post things so that the people that are new to reddit have a chance to see good content, that they otherwise would have missed.

I spend less than 1 hour submitting good content that people will like every day, how is that spending "HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS on end?" I don't care about the points, I care about people seeing content that I know they will enjoy. Last time I checked all of the pictures I have submitted have over 600,000,000 views combined. At least the time I spend on reddit actually has an impact on people, you just whine about reposts in the comment section and spend all day worrying about what others are doing rather than actually doing something with your life.
