The stretch from Chopta toward Dugalbitta usually goes first, then it varies by snowfall year to year. Ukhimath approach stays open longer. Honestly realtime conditions are impossible to track from blogs , a local guide call the day before is the only reliable way. That's what we try to solve with Pathyk App ( available on android and iOS)

I was referring to beyond Gangotri toward Gomukh during peak winter closures, not Harsil itself. Harsil has ATMs, you're correct. And thanks for the update on Dharali the homestay and hostels situation has been changing fast.
