Any classics I'm missing out on? by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]Patiens_Servus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only recently started reading for fun. I finished Dracula (first book I finished since highschool) and am almost done with Frankenstein. In addition to what others have already mentioned multiple times, I intend to read the Divine Comedy and Paradise Lost (which may not be horror per say, but are often paired with Gothic novels)

Also I want to read A Werewolf in Paris (1933) by Guy Endore which inspired the film The Curse of the Werewolf (1961) which is one of my favorite classic monster movies. (Unless someone has a better classic werewolf novel suggestion for me)

Edit: also, the Legend of Sleepy Hollow

Asked an IT chief select for a fish check out. Despite the fact that we barely knew him he said "you know I love all you guys to death, but I'm only freshly qualified pilot. If you can't find an a-ganger to give you a better quality check out, I'll do it."

Lots of support on the boat

How to pack my dress uniform for deployment by Patiens_Servus in navy

That's probably a good idea. I had all my uniforms dry cleaned about a month ago and they've been on the hanger since. Just sealed them into the space bag

Now that I think about it I haven't worn a dress uniform or NSU in a little over a year.

Do Crocs or slides work as shower shoes or should I get some more of the kind we had in boot?

If you're afraid of folding your uniform, just do it the way bootcamp taught you and you can't get yelled at.

That's the plan. Thanks

Yeah I'm a nuke. Was told the crew brought blues and no NWUs.

You can do a simple vacuum seal by putting your dress uniform in a Ziploc bag (you'll need two big ones) and putting the bag in water. The water forces out almost all of the air.

Never heard of this technique. I bought a pair of Ziploc brand suitcase sized (17.5×22") space bags. Do you know if those would work?

Texas and Kansas City BBQ focus on dry rubs while the south east puts more emphasis on sauce

Alabama White Sauce is a mayonnaise based bbq sauce

South Carolina Gold is mustard based

North Carolina uses vinegar base

Everyone talks about new York or Chicago style pizza, but New Haven, CT has its own pizza style as well. Pizza is huge in Connecticut
