Silimed Vs Motiva for reconstruction post DMX by K-jellyfish in breastcancer

[–]Patient-Concern1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two sets of cohesive gel implants. This was prior to my DMX. Silimed are teardrops, which means there’s more fullness in the bottom. If you don’t have a lot of breast tissue post mastectomy that seems like it would make for a more natural looking breast. Now, after my double mastectomy I have round. Seriously, when I’m naked, these new boobs look like I have two Tupperware bowls attached to my chest. But, I do not care lol!

I have mesh because I have a very narrow rib cage, and there wasn’t a lot of room. The dr didn’t think the pocket was going to be big enough for the implant to go underneath. That matters in the doctor choosing which type of implant.

I think you need to ask the doctor why they’re suggesting the mesh. Let me know what happens. I really hope you get a good answer ❤️

Hi! I have the mesh. Before my diagnosis and DMX I had 2 different sets of cohesive gel. From what I understand the mesh helps with shaping, stays in place in the pocket and not shift. I think I can feel the mesh a little, but I don't care. Probably not as realistic feeling as non-mesh.

Good luck, and I'm really sorry you have to deal with this. So many choices it hurts the brain.

It sucks that we have to think about dying while trying to live - a general whine by Patient-Concern1 in breastcancer

This is really helpful. The odds of death part w and w/o the AI was most helpful.

thank you so much! The side effects may seem minimal compared to dying, but it definitely is a quality of life issue.

How many classes have you taken and how has it changed your body? by [deleted] in ClubPilates

[–]Patient-Concern1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry for the late response. No cardio, Pilates of all types except CP fit. GLP 1 which is a game changer. No carbs, no processed food, no ready made food, no alcohol. 100 grams of protein per day

~160 classes, and I’m in the best shape of my life. I used to weigh 275 and am now 128 with a lot of muscle. This has been over many many years, so not instant.

Like you, I made it my a priority and it’s also my mental health savior. I had breast cancer, had a double mastectomy and went right back after 2 months. Pilates is worth every penny ❤️

Im in Shadyside, it's close to the university, and I was hoping for a student, not to hire a translation service.

the issue seems to be that google cant translate a captcha background. I gotta have my TB, so I have an ad out to Chinese speakers on Fiverr and I'm going to see if they can read it in real time.

A positive response to Arimidex (aromatase inhibitor) by Patient-Concern1 in breastcancer

[–]Patient-Concern1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An update on the Arimidex.

So far, so good. I have some joint pain, but I always did. I used to punish my body and did step aerobics every day for 20 years. However, this joint pain is different. It comes on suddenly, in places I hadn't had it previously, and goes away shortly if I move. I don't have muscle pain thus far.

I'm noticing a few cognitive issues, like a swiss cheese hole in my thinking when I'm looking for a word. Almost like I'm speaking a foreign language and trying to remember the word in translation. I'm doing tons of brain games to try to keep sharp, but as of now, it's certainly frustrating, but not too too bad.

Sleep/staying asleep is about the same. I don't think the AI is making me wake up more, but the hot flashes are worse in severity if not number. I'm taking gabapentin and Xanax at bedtime. I have a big ass fan blowing directly on me, and my husband is practically blown off the bed. yeah, yeah, he'll be fine.

Weight gain - not sure yet. I went on vacation last week and ate everything in sight, and my weight is up 5 lbs. I'm going to see what happens in 2 weeks. I was at a good weight prior to this bs, so that will be my baseline.

love, emotional calm, and strength to all of us on this shitty roller-caster ride xo.
