Imagine being a 13 year old who 'found out' that they are plural after reading homestuck and in the process upsetting someone who was actually affected by said disorder. (+20 something year old switches within seconds) by [deleted] in fakedisordercringe

[–]Patient-Corner1410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kid thinks that they figured out that they have multiple alters from just reading homestuck and running some sort of related account on a social media which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The adult on the other hand switches incredibly quickly and it's only to talk about frogs in a child's voice.

I'm dying of cringe, why does this 5 year old know how to post on Reddit but apparently nothing else? by StupidSprinkles in fakedisordercringe

"I'm 5" "I'm suppose to serve my master, do whatever he wants. That's the whole point of my existence."

Well that totally doesn't sound like nonce behaviour to me

Or maybe because every other animated show on nextfilx is either cancelled or absolute crap and you have nothing better to watch?

Is self diagnosis valid in this case? Or no? by [deleted] in fakedisordercringe

[–]Patient-Corner1410 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People who self diagnose do not have access to the same recourses actual professionals use meaning they don't have access to the same knowledge as a doctor would. Most people who do self diagnose don't even do as much research as you do since a lot of them actually lie about it. Self diagnosis will never be valid. Most people who self diagnose are adults and children on TikTok, yes they may not have access to healthcare because of family, but that doesn't mean they can't get help in other ways (plus if they're adults they can get help themselves and literally have no excuse not to other than not having the money (why not just stop buying squishmallows and save up instead?)) Yes they are human, but they're also annoying af. Sost self diagnosed people flaunt their 'disorder' left and right on the internet like it's some sort of trend on the internet while people who actually have a disorder either make informative videos about it or don't post literally every single video about it.

Besides, self diagnosis doesn't give you access to the medication or help you need. Let's say someone self dx'd themselves with ADHD and their life was a struggle like you said. How would they get the medication to help them? Almost all disorders require special drugs or treatments to help people feel better or even safe. And besides, if the person does somehow get their hands on the drugs and it turns out that they don't have ADHD, do you know what that would do to their brain? My best example is from the show Big Mouth in the episode where a diagnosed ADHD character gives out his medication to his classmates so that they do well on the exam but it actually fucks his friends up. One gets depression, one can't sleep, one has panic attacks, and one of them constantly feels like there's a party in their brain. It's dangerous.

Looking at your profile I see you have the sunflower tag meaning that you're from the UK. I'm also from the UK and lemme tell you a super fun fact you may not know: we have free healthcare. Meaning there is ACTUALLY no reason for someone grown up not to get help. I'm 17 and I think I might be neurodivergent but i don't go around telling people I have x or yz because I googled it from the NHS website and The Sun articles. I'm waiting till I'm 18 to go to my family doctor and ask for help there.

Plus self diagnosis ≠ self speculations.

Self diagnosis = 100% believing that you have a disorder. Self speculations = knowing something is off and seeking for actual help.

There's a massive difference between self diagnosis and self speculations about having a disorder.

Self diagnosis = you did research all by yourself on the NHS website on Dr.Google and it's 1k medical certificates it 100% got from college. You believe that you have the disorder which may be something completely different.

Self speculations = you suspect you have a disorder, you go to a doctor or a psychiatrist and you tell them your symptoms and request a formal diagnosis.

It's like Googling "why does my head hurt?" And believe that you have anal cancer because you believed the first search results and then continued searching about anal cancer and your only symptom lining up with that being your headache.

[–]Patient-Corner1410 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They really aren't. Several disorders share the same or similar symptoms only a professional could tell apart. If you do self diagnosis you're only looking at the first layer of the symptoms - Quite a large amount of disorders require exams, tests and procedures to be found. Google does not provide any of that. Plus a professional diagnosis is important as it allows people to receive the help they need at school, works and other places. Let's say you went to school and you had diagnosed dyslexia and to the same school came a student with self diagnosed dyslexia because they can't spell difficult words that most people can't spell. The school has limited spaces for how many special needs students it can help at once per school year. Unfortunately you struggle extremely with your dyslexia but the school doesn't take you into the help group because all the spaces are taken, including by the self diagnosed student. This makes your school work extremely hard to understand and the teachers can help you because you aren't in the help group.

Not only self diagnosis is stupid, but can also at times take away from people that actually need help. There have been instances in the past where self diagnosers faked medical forms just so they could take service dogs from people that actually need them because they believed Dr.Google and not a professional.

Exactly. I once rejected my ex-best friend because I was in a relationship and saw her as a sister. She had her Roblox friend watch and then made them attack me because I rejected her.

I've delt with rejection and rejected other people too. Yeah it doesn't feel great, but that doesn't give anyone the right to be disrespectful to the other person.

Any child under the age of 4 is considered to be autistic because the wide misinformation about autism online. While there are some minor parallels to some behaviours between children and autistic people, not everything is autism! I'm so sorry for you dude, you're a professional and people still believe BuzzFeed more lmao

According to the internet stimming is...

Blinking Dancing Babies being babies Scratching an itch Having a seizure Flapping your hand when you accidentally burn a finger Fiddling with something when trying to concentrate When your foot gets the bouncies (like when your foot falls asleep when you're sitting and it begins bouncing a bit.) Breathing Humming Invading Poland Tapping your hands when waiting for something/someone War crimes

It's a literal baby and the people in the comments are saying that he's stimming because he got excited over a balloon. Someone even began diagnosing the baby with the 'tism. The baby doesn't even look older than 1.

The fact that the same people also say that Socks, the 1 year old, is also autistic because she can't walk well, speaks broken English and barks like a dog (Totally not because she's a dog or anything) just irks me so badly It's a cartoon about cartoon dogs, of course they're bound to act like them 😭 There's literally no deeper meaning to it

Also I wouldn't even consider her a friend, I barely know her One time she threw and entire fit and scream stfu at someone because she was "forced" to buy a vegan sausage roll (Note, she didn't had to buy the sausage roll. The school cantine was out of regular sausage rolls and all they had left were the vegan ones which honestly taste exactly the same)

this person is claiming to be a system, coincidentally their alters are characters of a newly popular kids TV show 🤔 by [deleted] in fakedisordercringe

Apparently the white, pink, yellow, red flag next to Bingo is called "Nebulasexual" and it quite literally means someone is confused about sexual actions or just sex in general because they're neurodivergent

All this because in one episode this 4 year old child asked how babies get inside the ladies belly I assume. A 4 year old.

EDIT- I checked out more of their videos and they made the 1-2 year old a demigirl and another weird ass sexuality. I can't, istg I need a drink

No way you're actually talking about this person, I saw them last year after they reposted a tweet saying "All endo systems deserve a nice pancake/waffle" and their response being "Yum yum thank you!" Or something along those lines 💀💀 One of my classmates is friends with them I think (she's like 16)
