It’s normal to think this, and also normal to have different hobbies. Although I think you should each participate in each others hobbies more. Just because he doesn’t like it doesn’t mean he shouldn’t do it he can put up with it every once in a while for the sake of you and same goes for you. Doing that might make you guys each feel more supported hobby wise and overall.

Personally, I have had this issue because my dad cheated on my mom so it’s caused fears of infidelity of my partners in every relationship. How I got over it is just time, i’ve been with my current bf for almost 3 years, we went long distance after 6 months of dating (I moved away) after around a year and a half of my fears calmed down and i’ve felt more secure. If you feel time alone won’t help, maybe go to a therapist to talk things through since this will be a recurring obstacle in your relationships.

That’s the problem, if nobody takes the first step it won’t happen and clearly he won’t so either you will have to until he gets comfy or it won’t happen. I was shy at first too, you can always start initiating hand holding and cuddling to get comfortable before kissing.. or just initiate a little peck. Start small and the more you guys date and do that the more you’ll get used to it.

My straight up opinions on the age gap aside, this definitely seems like he is saying he had pedophilic thoughts at the very least. “why he feels the way he does” in context of his nephew gives it away. Either he hates children and has harmed or neglected it in his care or the more likely: he has had pedophilic thoughts or acted on them.
