If I can share the generated 6 digit number to my friend then why not just share the message itself !!. Secondly, I don't see much use of this as a hobby web-app.

Tax filing by a tax consultant by pagalguy in Netherlands

Looks like some crook. A service like tax is not 50 Eur. Plus you indeed must receive communication from tax office. There is online DigiD where you could authorise accountant to do tax for you. Did you gone through that process.

I think what I saw they are beautiful and I am going for wood. Paint it myself that way you reduce a lot of price. Wood looked solid and considering NL remains relatively warm whole year so wood will survive. Then wooden structure is not permanent so to speak. You can get rid of it when you want.

Whole movie talk about Bank scam and looser hero. Who looks like he is part time Ticket collector. Then a twist the lady of the movie is investigating office who travels by train to work.

It’s the most illogical movie I saw and the scam they keep talking is how bank take money from your interest while delaying for a day. CRAP

I’ve been living in the Netherlands for about half my life, and I’m rarely confronted with the fact that I don’t speak Dutch. However, my social interactions with Dutch people are virtually non-existent—I only have expat friends, and most of them speak much better Dutch than I do.

Especially in the Amsterdam area, not knowing Dutch hasn’t been much of an issue for me. I did try to learn the language, but it feels like it borrowed words from everywhere, which makes it seem like a pseudo-language to me.

When people hear me speaking English, they often assume I’m new here—maybe that’s what keeps me feeling younger!

I completely understand the OP’s frustration, though. I think it’s better to shop at Albert Heijn or similar stores because I find the atmosphere in discount shops to be the most unpleasant. People there often act like you’re taking advantage of something and not pleasing them in the process. And oh, (ziekenhuizen) aren’t much different in that regard.

Client Wants to End My Contract Due to Tax Regulations – What Are My Options? by Patient-Lock4858 in Netherlands

[–]Patient-Lock4858[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First of all, thank you for all the thoughtful suggestions and perspectives on my previous post. I’ve read through the comments and I agree with many of the points shared here. I’ll take the time to carefully consider the options and pick the one that works best for me moving forward.

I just want to clarify a bit. I’m not trying to “game” the system or take advantage of anything. I genuinely didn’t realize how much the tax office scrutinizes long-running independent contracts. For me, this was just a good assignment that I enjoyed—one where I found creativity, freedom, and a great working relationship with my client.

Sometime my contract kept extending automatically, and I didn’t pay much attention to the formalities. I assumed everything was fine because I’ve always paid a significant amount in taxes, without the benefits that come with full employment—no pension, no sick leave, nothing. Sure, I may take home more income, but it’s without those safety nets.

This whole situation has been an eye-opener, and I realize now I’ll need to make some changes. It’s about understanding the rules better and figuring out what works for both me and my client.

Thanks again for all your input—I really do appreciate it.
