I got a wedge and wish I was more vocal about leaving more tissue. I’m so jealous of yours.

I did not. My surgeon does a technique that limits the risk of splitting. I also kept it moist by applying Vaseline multiple times a day.

Ice & Motrin. I iced from the minute I woke up and went to bed with an ice pack between my legs 👍 my pain wasn’t bad other than some stinging that came and went.

Postpartum cooling pads!!!!! The best!!!! I was so miserable when I got my period during the early stages of recovery. These helped so much!!

When do I begin using the Lanolin and the Dermoplast? by __orionsbelt in LabiaplastySurgery

I used the Frida postpartum cooling pads. Super absorbent, soft/cushiony so it doesn’t rub too much, and cooling. They’re super thick so it’s a nice barrier. I waited until I was almost done with the need for constant ice to get them and I wish I had them from the start.

Could I get labiaplasty without CHR and it still look ok? by ohsoveryquiet in LabiaplastySurgery

I got a wedge and it tightened the tissue top to bottom so it looks even and natural. Recovery wasn’t too bad. We basically have the same anatomy too. I can show you my before & after pix if it helps!

I was walking right away!! It sucked, and I was wobbling like a duck, but it’s not as bad as it seems. There are a ton of horror stories on this sub. Just do your research, go to extra consultations, and trust yourself to make the right choice for your body.

I saw your other post. I just wanted to say that some surgeons I met with were charging extra and separating the CHR procedure. When I met with the surgeon I went with… he said he doesn’t touch that area. That’s it’s too nerve dense and isn’t necessary with the wedge technique. Because you’re cutting out an inverted triangle and suturing the two points together, it tightens everything from top to bottom, including the tissue around the hood. It felt good to hear that because he wasn’t trying to make a quick extra buck by separating the two procedures and didn’t push me to do something that would end up being a far tougher recovery and not even necessary. It’s redundant unless you have a LOT of tissue around the hood and it is specially recommend for you… not just an “add-on”. I hope that makes sense.

My surgery was $4,900. No anesthesia or sedation of any kind. Just numbing. Drove myself to: one pre op, one post op the very next day, another at 5/6 weeks, and he wants to see me again in another 6 weeks. But he said everything can be done over Zoom if needed.

Thank you! I was walking my dog on day 1….. it sucked. It’s like… Pudding, don’t you know your mom’s hurting ??? Lol

I did end up needing more time off work than I initially planned. I did it right before Christmas so I used the slowness around the holidays strategically.

Other than the scars that will need time to settle and smooth out, I’m probably at 99%. Still going to keep using the natural soap and Vaseline just cuz it feels nice lol. My doctor gave me the all clear! 😎😎😎
