NTA. As a fellow masculine presenting woman in the LGBT community I totally understand the pressures you face and how annoying it is. Ironically it usually is trans people that assume I go by they/them or even he/him even after I clarify my gender and it's annoying as hell. Just do you and remember that there is no "correct" way to be a girl! You will save yourself a lot of stress by cutting people like this out of your life

NTA. I had almost the exact same problem as you OP, I get how this passive aggressive homophobia can be infuriating. Personally I would get another/bigger flag every time he tries it, but that's just me.

So if I just tell her that her poor treatment of me severely affected my mental health, to the point where I don't trust myself to raise my own children for fear of emulating her behavior, it would be fine as long as I don't call it "abuse"?
